TheBrownBottle
All professional PL footballers will be able to show ‘glimpses’ - they’re there for a reason. But if all they ever show is ‘glimpses’ then they’re not good PL footballers Elanga isn’t a good PL footballer. That we’ve chased him for two years and then paid a ridiculous fee for him (and he wasn’t a panic buy) is more damning of the manager and scouting network than any of the other summer signings
duo
Would love to hear Eddies reasoning for wanting to sign this lad - cause he's clearly seeing something no one else sees
Lush Vlad
To go with the fact his touch, crossing and passing has been poor. That video just further illustrates how bad he connects with other players. It’s like he has never trained with his teammates before and he’s a ringer (without the ability) playing for a Sunday league team. Not that the lack of chemistry is exclusive to him, mind. We’ve played like strangers all season. During Howe’s time here. I think a lot of our success has been down to great partnerships and link up play between certain players Trippier and Almiron. Murphy and Isak. Barnes and Hall/Tino. Schar and Burn/Botman. Big Joe and Little Joe. Bruno and everyone. I’ve not seen anything close to partnerships forming this season. Players in and out the side all the while and rarely having in form players in the team hasn’t helped. The wings in particular have been horrendous. Considering we exclusively attack and try and progress the ball down the flanks. That’s not really ideal.
Novocastrian
Hutchinson looked great last night, quick, skillful, crisp passer, tricky dribbler. Gave the Villa left back a tough night. Forest laughing their tits off at us..

They also can’t believe how bad he’s been here compared to how well he played for them. When we talk about him they haven’t laughed at all, they’re just baffled. The remaining £20m they’ve done better with Hutchinson but stats-wise we’ve both lost out as all three are embarrassingly unproductive. Hutchinson: Ndoye: Shit Tony:

His stats were great last season and he’s took the piss out of us a couple of times when we played Forest. However he’s continued to take the piss since he’s got here. On paper and the eye test he looked like an Howe type of winger that would fit into the system but it just hasn’t worked bar an odd random game here and there. I don’t doubt he’s better than what he’s shown here but I can’t see him being a level of winger that’s required to operate at a level we need if we want to be one of the best teams. He does have a sense of humour at least as it's totally ironic how some of the passes he plays which are allover the place, then has the audacity to wave his hands up as if it's a team-mates' fault Some of those he took 4 touches and still didn't have it under control

sixx
It’s all been a bit of an enigma. He’s been fit as a butcher’s dog pretty much all season, played an enormous amount of minutes, has good attitude, never looks absolutely shorn of confidence and not often been absolutely honking. Just… not effective at all. In all, it could easily be argued that it sums up to the worst transfer of the season. Maybe we can farm him out on loan to a club and playing style that suits him better. Rich
Had a thought when we won again without him getting minutes, so I had a look at our all competitions record this season when this charlatan doesn’t besmirch the field of play: W: 8 D: 1 L: 1 My conclusion is that we’d have won the quadruple if he was demoted to the reserves after his very first training appearance. Pilko
Can't get a kick ahead of Jacob Murphy from the only bloke in professional football that thought he was worth wasting £55m on last summer. I'm sure he's a nice lad but what an absolute crock of shit he's been.
Moose
How about we leave him at the City Ground and bring Elliott back home with us and we'll all pretend that none of the ever happened eh? I feel like the catastrophic Wissa deal has taken a lot of attention away from just how much of a disaster he's been here.
