If we keep giving away soft goals I'm afraid it is deserved.

In that case every scoreline is always deserved/undeserved. Which is fine, provided you have the same view when we win despite being shite.

Grealish is allowed to win a successful dribble guys. Just as Murphy beating Gviardiol early. It’s the fact we didn’t do better to stop the shop.

just keep pushing and take a chance.

Because of Tonali playing in the deeper role it is allowing Bruno to get further forward. Best 45 minutes for us this season

Apparently a few of the "knows ball" lads haven't spotted it.

Gordon is not good up front

never seen him have a good game there for NUFC only for England u21

Mostly because when he’s up top for is, it’s games like this where he’s told to chase lost causes and put pressure on. When it was England u21s, it was the side controlling the possession, getting it in the pockets and him making runs beyond, or dropping into pocket and someone like MGW / Madueke making run behind.

Our play is just levels below that, as it’s more about getting turnovers high up and breaking.

Mad dive in by Tripps for the goal, Burn less so it was decent skill by Gvardiol

It was shit from both of them if we are being honest.

We’ve been OK on the whole. Thought we were really good for the first 25 mins. But we lack that final ball and decision making to make them pay. I’d take Barnes off, get Osula on and get AG10 out on the wing. Maybe take off Tonali for Willock and Tripps for Tino after 60-65 mins and have a go at them. There’s something to be had from this.

Tactically and performance wise we've been really positive and most balanced in the midfield we've looked all season. Tonali dropping into the defensive third has to be pursued going forwards. Just a few individual mistakes with trippier (best he's looked this season) diving in and Pope with his terrible footwork. A good committed positive second half and we can get something here

If it was a one off I could agree, but we've been giving away soft goals all season man. Even Howe has been complaining about it, and he will again today if we lose.

Tonali has touched the ball 8 times. Bruno 24, Joelinton 17.

This is a trend that has been the same whether he has been nominally the deepest midfielder or as the 8 so it isn't down to the role. He doesn't get involved enough and looks physically weak in challenges off the ball. Good touches on the ball when he does eventually get it.

I rate him, liked watching him in Italy, but don't think he's had a particularly good game for us since his debut. I'm convinced he's just not a great tactical fit to the way we play.

I doubt Man City fans think they deserve to be ahead.

It's a silly discussion to be fair. You are right, the defending was poor.
