MagMal
Just checked the table, only 4 points ahead of Everton, for some reason that has really pissed me of!.

We didn't, like at Everton, we are creating chances for a poacher of a forward or an on coming midfielder which we don't have. We are a smidging of hammering teams. huss9
best opening 30 minutes for a long time. was prime Howe era football. at least 5 decent chances for us in the game as a whole. horrendous finishing. puzzling subs.... bruno AND tonali off? left us with schar as our only playmaker. but the biggest thing today was what the fuck is up with our corners and set pieces? worst of any team i've see this season including wimbledon. also think we should have had a pel. was clear handball when the lad fell on it. I agree with everything above. First 30 minutes we blew them away. Sucker punch. Dominated again. Set pieces were crap. I also thought it was a blatant penalty. Decky
Anyone else enjoying the warm sense of familiarity during this spell of being shite again? Feels like home.
Kid Icarus
We're not shite, so not really. In a weird mood personally, feel upbeat with a tinge of annoyance that we didn't win.
KingArthur
We didnt take our chances, and I am bit worried that too much rests on Gordon and Isak. Midfielders are not really scoring, although Joelinton could and perhaps should, and without Trippier his set piece threat and crosses are missing. Isak is very isolated and I really can't see us scoring very much.
nemtizz
Feeling upbeat after losing the first game of the season that we've played 'well', but lost, is insane @Kid Icarus js

JEToon
I’m struggling to take as much of a positive on the first 30 minutes as some seem to want to. It’s quite a small % of the game the other 60 is far closer to what’s going to be the norm in a lot of games, teams camped in, allowing us the ball to break sides down, and it wasn’t that promising. A lot of it was very comparable to Goodison, its lacking purpose and accuracy. Edited October 19 by JEToon
HawK
Kind of saw this coming but we played better than I thought we would, I called it 1-3 in the pregame thread. It's the same old issues - we're a counter attacking team built with pace with no guile in the final third. Unfortunately it's been a problem for over a season now, teams know they can just low block us and counter back.

I'd probably put Gordon right and Willock through the middle to see how that would work, hopefully a lot of fluidity and link ups with Isak. Just wish we'd see something a bit different from time to time.

huss9
we just need to win the carabou and everything will be fine.
Turnbull2000
Hoping much of what we're seeing is just a few key players dropping out of form but unfortunately at the same time. If they've individually come to conclusion we're going nowhere (especially after a disastrous summer) as a club, then that rot will be very difficult to stop. The more I think on it though the more I think it is a penalty. He can see the ball and was going down in control. He knew what he was doing handling it and could have easily not done. Geordie Ahmed
Start of the season we were playing poorly but picked up decent results whilst now we're playing better but not getting the results to match, football is a funny old game
Karjala
Possibly the best 2 performances so far, and zero goals scored and 1 point out of 6. Lot of over reactions on Facebook I see. Isak puts away 1 of his 2 big early chances and we go on to win comfortably.
Yorkie
I don't understand how the goals have dried up so much after scoring about a million times last season. Agree with general concerns about going stale, and you can easily picture us meandering to a disappointing mid-table finish on the basis of the season so far - but ultimately we're just badly under-scoring our xG atm. Absolutely mental that we didn't stick one away today. Game hinged on Isak's chance in the first half. Set pieces are wank. Hall is class. Love the lads. AyeDubbleYoo
We’re definitely not talking about the handball enough either, it’s a blatant penalty.
