Anyone tell me how Enzo Fernandez is worth 120 million? He did nothing that I haven't seen Jack Colback or Sean Longstaff do tonight.

Can't get my head around it. He's such a nothing player

Lots of sideways passes. Not sure if it was him who put that lovely through ball in for Felix I think it was that he stabbed wide, that was a lovely ball. But otherwise it was all sideways and backwards with a few short balls into feet 5 or 6 yards in front of him. Real lack of invention.

My god, is that perhaps a "half whinge"?

No, I’m happy with the win and performance.  But we didn’t limit them to potshots.  We deserved to win, but I don’t think that a 5-3 scoreline would have been all that shocking.

Was a game of two tactics for us today, the first half harassing and hurrying their back line into mistake after mistake and we got the reward we deserved from our tenacity.

Second half saw us shut up shop and ask Chelsea to come and make the tie interesting and it was a solid defensive display with a couple of opportunities to kill the tie off.

Every player played their part and although there was a couple of lapses in concentration, no one deserved a berating today. Tonali was MOTM for me, he really made us tick.

Yes. It's my point really.

On another day we win the game on Sunday.

On another day we lose this one.

But if you take the prevailing mood Sundays performance was "awful" and this one was "really good".

I think there were good bits and bad bits about our performances in each of the games. But on balance I don't think today's was better, despite the results.

Hmm, I think we were consistently the better team tonight and dominated Chelsea from the start. That’s pretty good.

I know Chelsea didn’t seem bothered about getting through in the end but still nice.

Not a hope in hell was that a 5-3 scoreline to either team.  You decipher games really weirdly.  Almost like a child would.  That comes across awful but I really mean it.  I hope I haven't hurt your feelings and people on here know me and that I can go for the jugular sometimes.  But I honestly feel your judgement on most football related themes are very limited.  On the other hand, your accountancy skills are quite remarkable.

How good is it celebrating a goal knowing there’s no VAR. really significantly makes me enjoy it more. Seemed like a good atmosphere, but was back of Gallowgate and couldn’t hear rest of ground. That’s more like it football wise too. Most I’ve enjoyed a game in a while

Yeah, it’s so much better. Even the disallowed goal was much better, knowing immediately.

Especially the way we made the first goal, so nice to know that VAR can’t find a way to disallow it.

Also not having 25 mins injury time was nice.

They did get through us into our penalty area on a few occasions but we always seemed to find a last ditch block or tackle.

Cheers Rod, no offence taken - I didn’t mean it was an end-to-end classic; I just meant if Felix had scored his sitter in the first half or Nkunku scored his in the second for starters.

And you know this how? They never got near us

Well obviously I don't know for sure, but one of the hazards of a 2-0 lead is that the team in the lead can relax a bit and surrender the initiative. If the opposition then score, it's game on, they get fired up and the team in the lead suddenly faces pressure and the need to raise their game again.

It felt like one of those games, that's all.
