At last, Tonali is playing with a bit of fire in his belly, which I think was one of the main qualities that encouraged Eddie to sign him. There were also signs that the Tonali-Bruno partnership could work well. I'm not 100% convinced yet, but I'm getting more optimistic. Eddie has this habit of getting things right.

 

Thing is, its all well and good playing like this against the best sides, but where is this same motivation against the likes of West Ham, Palace etc? West Ham it felt like the players felt like all they needed to do was turn up and they would win.

That's the big test going forward. I think Howe's intensity cant be done every single game, and we are selective when we go 100%.

Didn't realize Liverpool had only conceded 8 league goals before last night. They've also only conceded one goal in five CL games, which includes Madrid, Milan, and Leverkusen.

Have they ever uploaded a full men's game before, let alone so soon after the match?

They might have done the odd one in the past but they only really started uploading full matches this season (and it's usually the day after the actual match).

2 points CP - literally last kick of the ball equaliser

Fulham we deserved to lose - 0 pts

Brighton defo should have got 1 point but did enough for 3

West Ham - should have won with that first half but they played well too so could accept 1. 

So we should have an extra 6 points if being conservative, 8 being par and 10 if all would have been perfect.

I'm one of those that are annoyed at some of our missed chances against so called lesser sides.  But football doesn't really work like that.  I'd imagine Palace, West Ham and Brighton fans might have something to say to counter the above. 

 

Palace - they missed an open goal, one cleared off the line and we didn't have a shot.

Brighton - very good for an hour or so.  Ran out of steam/ideas.  They massively came into it towards the end.  Away performances to get a result often rely on scrappy play and some luck.

West Ham - we were great for a half, we gifted them 2 goals.  After that, they could have won by more and we didn't have a kick.

You can make a case for atleast 10 teams being title challengers through what ifs if you frame their games like this.

Watching bits of the game back.  Murphy should definitely have taken the hit from Kelleher when he was through, would have been an obvious red.

Worth watching for how gutted Carragher is every time we score and then when we equalise late on. Neville's misery while they lose to Arsenal is great too.

 

Quite enjoyable seeing them both suffer as they're both so incredibly biased and annoying when they cover their teams during matches.

Isak penalty I can see why not given. Contact is minor and one of those where the attacker is actively looking for and leaning into the foul. Prob gets given the other way mind. 

 

Blowing at the end. I'm not entirely sure when the whistle went but we were at time and if he's blown not seeing the attack was on I can forgive him it. 

 

I thought he was otherwise decent. Let the game flow, gave them yellows when they deserved them rather than let them go, didn't give their pen claim either. Was one of the better performances I remember seeing recently to be fair.

It's little things like that with him that are the difference between being good enough or not good enough. The pass to Tino when he was obviously miles offside (because Murphy didn't play the ball quickly enough), miskicking the ball out for a goal kick when he's got half a yard on Robertson down the wing, his failure to even challenge Robertson when he spooned the ball straight in the air on the edge of his own 6 yard box after Gordon's deflected shot...very frustrating. He has a hammer of a right foot though, some pretty decent hits from distance and was unlucky with the one that hit the post.

Agree. That's why it's better to look at recurring patterns over a period of games to get an idea if there's an issue. The table tends to tell the real story whatever the ifs and buts over 90 mins.

The penalty incident happened right in front of us from where I was sitting, and we didn't think that it was a penalty cause Isak appeared to just stumble. From the replays though, I could see the defender stepping on Isak's foot. VAR could have done with a look.

Just had a look on RAWK and surprisingly enough we are getting no credit, apparently we never laid a glove on then in the first half despite it being their worst performance since before Klopp took over and we only came away with a point due to the performance of their keeper and the ref. Also Anthony Gordon is a cheating, diving twat, They mustn't be old enough to remember Kenny Dalglish who perfected the art of diving for pens.
