The signs were there against Wolves

Na man, we smashed them In the end, that game has absolutely zero bearing on today, their manager, tactics & players were (and possibly are) better than us today, we have a million miles to go to be actual winners, the mindset is not right to be winners, we will win a lot of games but the games which make the difference are probably beyond us at this stage, we dont have the strength of mind to be competion / league winners yet imo, I just dont see a Keane, Viera personality in our team, I hope im wrong obv but im not convinced we have that stardust just yet

It’s not to do with being winners, we were poor against Wolves, too; but Wolves are shite and Bournemouth aren’t.  Bournemouth played really well both in terms of their play and in knowing exactly how to exploit all of our players’ weaknesses (and we played poorly to boot).  BDB’s clumsiness, Botman’s lack of pace, Hall’s positional sense, Joelinton’s hot temper, Bruno’s playing with fire in trying to draw fouls, etc etc etc.  The match was a perfect storm in terms of beating this NUFC side.  Not sure re mindset as I’m not in the dressing room.

They were brilliant I thought and knew exactly how to play us. It was obvious from the off. They may be an unfashionable club, but they have an excellent manager and some very good players. Huijsen, Kerkez, Semenyo and Kluivert especially and he has Brooks and Christie playing very well. It’s the best team I’ve seen against us at SJP in a long time. I mean we weren’t at it and I’d say only Tonali really got pass marks, but I do think a lot of it was down to their approach.

Fowwa 1 is ahful.

To be honest though, I struggled to be annoyed throughout the whole game...dunno what it was.  Just gave credit to Bournemouth for absolutely Newcastle'ing the shit out of us and we couldn't deal with it.  They were class.

Gona move on and hope it doesn't effect them too much going into the next game.

What was particularly shite was that second half we didn’t even look like scoring. Can’t recall an effort on target until a tame header at Kepa. Was like the West Ham and Brighton game in that regard.

I like that Howe has acknowledged it was shite and do agree fatigue is a big part of it.

Hopefully put it right next week. Be nice if Forest could somehow fail to win but cannot see it.

Rare to see a good old fashioned battering. Don’t think anyone bar Tonali had a passable game. Never looked at it or close to getting near it at any point even after the equaliser.

Perfect away performance from the AFCB boys. Thought their midfield two were excellent. Like how Joelinton plays at his best.

Just watched the highlights, Bournemouth were outstanding. They would have beaten just about everyone today.

They were like that against us, got a 96th minute equaliser but tbh they were unfortunate to have been losing in the first place.

They're tenacious as fuck too, what a great job that guy is doing.

Always liked Brooks since his Sheff United days, think he would have got a big move if not for ill health.

Best team to beat us resoundingly at home since Dortmund, also made me think back to Fulham in the promotion season after we’d had 2 huge wins.

These days can happen, but for me there’s a nagging doubt that we still haven’t evolved to handle a really good technical team who can match our physicality.

I got carried away thinking Tonali has solved our midfield woes, but today was a huge reality check.

We’ve won 9 in a row, we just had an off day.

It’s worth pointing out that not many teams have the fitness Bournemouth do or even the personnel to do what they did to us today. They played very well up here last season too and would have won if they had taken more of their chances, bearing in mind we got an iffy penalty and a Matt Ritchie fortunate scrappy equaliser. It’s not a good match up for us and hopefully we will put it right in future.

In an unrelated note, nice comeback by Villa to snatch a point.

On the fatigue question, would explain some of the bad passing and terrible touches.

think gordon had one cleared off the line and also had his volley blocked - looked like it was heading in.

Understat has them 3rd on xPTs.

Fulham 4th.

Both of them have been very very good this season.
