Sloppiness for the goal aside, we were pretty comfortable today without ever getting out of second gear.

Only slight concern is that Joelinton and Gordon still looked a bit leggy.

Feels like both of them have played a bit too much. Not checked actual minutes.

I feel like Gordon is a touch underappreciated at times and seems often called out for average performances when I've found myself seeing a lot of positive stuff from him.

I think his all round quality has improved quite a bit since last season insofar that he'll often make progressive passes and show good composure in his decision making. He also seems to always try to make something happen, particularly when in a deep position. He has a knack of doing a really simple stepover and reverse that more often than not takes him round and clear of his marker and opens the opposition up for us to break on.

Only seen the 3 minute Sky highlights. Horrendous for the first goal. But looks like we should have had 4-5 at least and were unlucky not to bag more.

That monotone twat on co-comms for the penalty BTW….. Must have been Mr Magoo. Blind cunt.

Away fans were great, I hardly got a chance to stop singing or clapping.

Favourite part of the night was when their disallowed goal was being checked and we did their fist pumping celebration back at that them, gave me a good laugh.

Also loved a certain chant that I've somehow not heard before, but I'm now obsessed with. Get into em, FUCK EM UP! Think it just felt really tribal!

Sounded class the away end, loads of old songs being chanted. Wish we could get some decent new ones.

Goal music :anguish: tinpot as

Southampton are a small club. They have managed to make themselves seem bigger because for decades they have had no competition on the South coast, and they have had a good academy.

Now that pretty much every club on the South coast is getting their act together, and the Premier League is more competitive, meaning that they can no longer just stroll around and stay in the Premier League, the fans are not bothering to turn up and they are being shown up not being anything special.

They are just another Tory city/town who accidentally have a football team instead of a Rugby club.

Love a completely made up Stifler post.
