ExiledGeordie
Thankfully all the other teams around us have tricky matches so even a loss might not see us lose much ground on a few. I just hope we we don’t roll over again.
Hanshithispantz
Think we'll sit in at Anfield and go toe to toe at Wembley.
nufc4eva
Some very winnable games in our next 8 after this one, would hope we will 4 or 5 of them.

Even if we deserve to win we'll get done by the ref anyway here. Time for karma to repay that Isak disallowed goal; and that debacle of an Nunez inspired, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory home loss. Actually, for me, karma can keep its powder dry until March 16.
Aiston
Hopefully keep the goals down for our goal difference, cannot see a win.
GeordieDazzler
Can see this being a bit of a passive game from both sides with some bursts of Liverpool intensity probably getting them the goals. Can’t see us going blood and thunder with it being so close to the cup final.
Conjo
Interesting match from a strategic/tactical point of view considering the upcoming final. How will Howe and Slot approach this game? Try out something new as preparation but risk giving up a potential advantage? Set up as normal despite it possibly not being optimal? I feel our chances of winning the cup are reduced if we do well mid-week, and higher if we have something to avenge.
Geogaddi
I would be up for a lot of rotation for this one and just take the hit , we have far more important and winnable games coming up.

Yep, start Wilson, Barnes, Trippier and rest Tonali, Gordon, Isak and Tino. We are not getting anything anyway.
buzza
Can't see it, champs league place guarantees that extra revenue and psr purchase extra. Eddie will want at least a draw. All out attack... or back to the three man defence (if botman back) with tripps or livra and hall as the wing backs
Ginola14
pretty sure Howe will go full strength as he's not big on rotation and this is the toughest league fixture going he will want to win it and that will be the message to the players I have no doubt I don't think we'll get anything, they're in good form, have no game next weekend, will be full strength and highly motivated to basically wrap up the title before our cup final timing is pretty shit with our recent form being patchy and the defence back to shipping 3-4 regularly I've never felt so deflated after a win before, on paper it looks like a classic 4-3 and a great 3 points but the second half was such a horror show and shows there's a lack of confidence and nervousness in the team Pope's kicking really doesn't help so I would probably go back to Dubravka, but doubt that will happen now my fear is Livepool will gain a big psychological advantage over us ahead of the final feels like our best chance is them being complacent, otherwise an easy 3-0 home win
Magpie
Play like we did second half yesterday or down the Etihad and we'll get dry bummed.
Shearergol
Get Dubravka back in (can't believe I'm saying that) and I'll feel slightly less nervous. Need Tonali in for Willock too.
Dan Gleebals
Fuck rolling over to this lot. We go into this expecting a heavy defeat, which is what we will get. Not saying we will win, but we should be determined to get a draw at least. That said, I am struggling to understand how we go on a mega run, and then fuck up the last few games. Strange. If we get a positive result it just motivates them more for the final. If we lose it's a boost for them and negative for us. Glass half empty though. Time to put on my big boy pants and stop shitting the bed about it. It is what it is. lol Can see us getting bumped Wednesday and then a better, spirited display in the final which we lose by 1. Sorry for the negativity.

Sorry for the negativity. Exactly how I see the final go aswell, unfortunately. We put up a decent fight, but they are too clinical. That's how they win most of their games anyways. alexf
Yeah they are a different animal to Arsenal this year. Don't think sitting in against the likes of Salah works, as seen in the home fixture, pretty much every time they attacked they scored except for the one where they hit the bar. They are super clincal and find a way. Bit like the City of old, the only way to get anything is go toe to toe and take the risk of a hammering by being a threat going forward yourself. However no idea how we approach if we want to keep any element of surprise for the final other than a large rotating of the squad, which obviously if we lose heavily will be criticised ofcourse. Andy
Play Osula at left back and have him body slam Salah out of the final please
STM
I'm pleased that we've only got a small break until the next game after this. Id much prefer Howe to think outside the box for this one. Id be tempted to bring Krafth in at RCB and play with wing backs.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Bruno or Gordon rested.

alexf
I'd probably look at starting Krafth and Barnes for this one. Maybe even Osula at RW. Then keep Gordon as a option off the bench if we're still in the game later on.
