I missed BDB, didn’t think we’d be starting this up the morning after a LC Final!

 

BDB is a rock solid C.  A C+.

Longstaff is a D - he’s a lower PL club capable player.

I think he's courted a lot of unnecessary stick down the years but he's been absolutely brutal when featuring this season. Have a lot of love for the bloke but I've definitely reached the point where I hope he gets a good move; if he needs a run of games to be any use then ultimately he's not much use to us. E.

He was half decent when he was making those runs into the box on the inside right channel and scored a few goals (PSG most notably).

 

But the cameos he has made this season have been absolutely tragic and when he did play on the right hand side, he dragged the whole side down.  Wolves and Bournemouth away in particular.

Relegation battle but no higher. And I don’t think he would really help anyone stay up. 
 

Actually would like to see him move to a PL club so we can really see how he’d do. Think you’d be looking at a Kelly to Juve situation where his new fans hate him.

Said this before the final - on paper Dan Burns atttibutes are of a midtable CB. But his performances speak for themselves and he brings intangible qualities to the setup.  He’s been our best CB all season.

I think that’s roughly where he’d be - bottom six, not outstanding, though I think a perfectly capable CM.  That was us not too long ago - I think he’s a solid enough player for that level.  I suppose the difference with Kelly is that he’s joined one of the most successful clubs in world football and it just seems like a crazy transfer.

He's a squad player now. He wouldn't get past any of our current midfield 3 barring injuries or suspension. But there's no shame in that given that it's probably one of the best midfield 3's in the league. For us then, right now a D.

Think he’s far too limited on ball to be a prem regular in CM, but can do a job as back up starting say 5-8 games across a season.

Feel a bit shit being so negative after the past few days but my opinion of Longstaff hasn't suddenly changed because we won a cup on Sunday. I'm still of the opinion he's off little to no use to us in getting to where we want to be. It's absolutely not a lack of effort, he gives his all, it's a lack of quality unfortunately. 

 

Can't give him anything other than an E+

It’s his greatest weakness - he often seems to need an extra second on the ball

He's a fantastic footballer, but his extreme lack of pace stops him from being World class imo.

Bruno's an A for us but in reality he's a B player.

Bruno’s a B for me, he has a decent amount of games where he’s at the A level each season but overall I think he’s closer to a B. His attitude is one of those intangibles that pushing him closer to an A though. Won a trophy as captain, will go down in history as a Newcastle great forever

A. Don't think there's a midfielder close to him that I've seen here. He'll be a hero forever for the Cup, getting us to 4th, etc but it was last Jan to May where he really shone for me. Dragged an average midfield almost single-handedly to top 7, there were games where he'd start us from just in front of the CBs, then within seconds be in and around the oppositions box threading things into Isak. Beautiful player, beautiful man.

Same as Tonali, A-. I actually think we're so used to him now that we take his quality for granted a bit, he's a fantastic, world class footballer and he's a leader.

He's an A. Put him in Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc and he'd look absolutely at his level. A great playmaker and a great tough tackling midfielder all in one.

His lack of pace is mad for a top level

footballer. His lack of power when kicking the ball is also a bit weird. So to me, despite this. It actually shows just how good he is. 
 

Only the other week. He was top in Europe for through balls, duels won and fouls won. I think for the last couple of seasons. He’ll be top for distance covered in the league. His injury record is very good. 
 

Then you have all of the mental (no, not like that)  qualities that he brings. 
 

He’s almost the complete midfielder. Just that pace that stops him being that elite of the elite level.
