Barnes is anonymous defensively though. I wouldn't trust him to track Salah, at least Willock does help out in that way.

Barnes barely tracks back. Can't have him on the same side as Salah

Guessing Eddie has a smidge more faith in Willock tracking back than Barnes.

Liverpool aren't that great once the team gets back into what has been a pretty decent compact block.

 

We look like we can get something when we win the ball and get forward too.

 

Their counters do look really dangerous though.

 

Been an interesting wrinkle from Howe tactically. Would be even more effective with Isak playing.
