Newcastle United 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion - 02/03/2025

Very annoying, like. Off the ball we'd been really good but not done enough with it. That's ended up costing us cos they've had too many opportunities to build attacks. Goal was lucky as fuck though.

No idea why Minteh didn’t celebrate [emoji38]

He's grateful we took a chance on him. He was desperate to play in the premier league. He probably knows we didn't want to let him go either.

We just don't seem to have any real energy, they can just play through us and we never try to just calm the game down, keep the ball for a bit. Treating it like a fucking hot potato just brings pressure on us time and time again. We are also fucking pathetic with our passing either too slow or no accuracy.

it is sadly becoming increasingly apparent that Fab shouldn’t be starting for us anymore. It’s also pretty apparent that the club knows that though. He won’t be starting next season.

Cagey game, which felt pretty comfy in the main, with us being decent out of possession and breaking well, but that goal is annoying, even if it was a good move.

Can't complain at the score, even though I thought we had it sewn up after Isak's goal which got ruled out.

Both teams look shaky when pressed which is making this a bit of a lottery. Hopefully Isak will be the difference, because no one else looks like scoring so far.

We're clearly set up to sit in a block and hit them on the counter, but we've not looked very convincing.

We're so passive when we setup this way and the crowd goes to sleep too.

Don't have an issue with the tactic but just something about the way the team implements it that is off.

In terms of our weaknesses we see week in week out, nothing is going to change until the summer where they will hopefully be addressed in the window. We don’t have the personnel to fix the issues now imo.

Not brilliant that and conceding from their first attempt is pretty sickening. Let's hope we can buck the trend and perform in the 2nd half. Desperate for a mobile centre back mind. To go with Botman obviously.
