Miggys First Goal
85th minute - 32,000 Newcastle fans waving their scarves, getting the celebrations started early, I’m sat there watching the TV thinking to myself how this is tempting fate too much, especially being Liverpool. Then they scored and my heart absolutely sank, because we know this is Newcastle, and it would be peak Newcastle to lose it from here. I’m now cursing the TV, pissed at the fans for jinxing it. I don’t drink, but those few remaining minutes after they scored almost made me want to start. Thankfully, this isn’t the Newcastle of old. This is new Newcastle. Things are good now. Things are really good.

Things are really good. I felt like it was a matter of time before the equaliser came. However, after their goal did Pope even touch the ball? We done a class job of seeing it out. That late winner they scored on Isak’s debut after the disallowed goal, the Nunez late goals, the Pope red card game against them all hurt but Sunday made them all significant. Nice to finally get one over them.

If the gusto behind the Isak celebrations was accountable to the sense of "holy shit, we're actually gonna do it," then that is what I'd already felt with Burn's. I believed we'd win the cup and that goal was an emphatic confirmation. I also knacked my throat when celebrating the disallowed effort, so I was in physical pain cheering the decisive 'third'. I love that we also got to celebrate the final whistle like a goal; the jeopardy of their late push really elevated that moment into an emotional crescendo. Of course - it would've been amazing even if we were 4-0 up in injury time - but FT on Sunday was an intense collision between relief and a very new/unique euphoria. Epic. Just epic. I'm ravenous for more now and don't fear becoming desensitised should more glory come our way, but we'll never feel anything quite like that again. It's impossible. Like you say, it's not a choice, it's both. That second goal really got me though. Very hard to explain why because there are so many factors at play, but I think it's just because of how often we've watched Newcastle get close to glory, or have to get a result through backs-to-the-wall stuff, whereas on Sunday we absolutely battered them, and yet despite that while it was 1-0 and we were playing Liverpool it wasn't reflected in the scoreline. Getting that 2nd goal, in that manner, and so soon after being denied imo a perfectly good goal rubber stamped it. I think it would have been the same or better if we'd got that third that we deserved. 2-0 would have flattered them, never mind 2-1. Superior Acuña
The second coming so soon after the VAR disallowed one felt more than just a 2 goal cushion, it felt like we’ll score when we want. That gave me even more confidence. but obviously then the doubt came. A guy near me started singing Geordie Boys taking the piss and I reprimanded him
Jackie Broon
My eyes are literally sore from crying so much over the past 3 days, everything sets me off thinking about all of those years and crushing falling at the last hurdles, the people who never got to see us win anything, and there I go again! I'm sure I wasn't alone in being absolutely convinced them spawny bastards were gonna force an undeserved extra time, but we done the most un-Newcastle thing in the world and perfectly saw out the remaining 5 minutes or so What does everybody think would have happened if it had went to ET? I honestly think we would have still won, but none of my friends agreed.
pedro111
I'll keep it short lads. Best weekend of my life. So many different emotions. Was down London for the weekend but didn't have a ticket. That didn't matter, it was the camaraderie with the lads, the beers, the random interactions, Geordies round every corner of London. The well wishes beforehand, the nerves, the palpitations, the disbelief, the jubilation, strangers from other teams full of congratulations, bar staff full of praise for our magnificent well behaved fans after drinking pubs dry. That euphoric feeling at 3 o'clock Monday morning still drinking and savouring the moment with the lads. It was magic.

Dr Venkman
I’m usually very confident and tend to predict we’ll win, on Sunday I was hopeful of a win but expecting defeat. I can honestly say the only period of anxiety for me was half-time as I expected 45 mins of backs to the wall. While the actual game was happening, particularly after that first 5 mins, I was pretty confident we were going to do it, TBH, even after they scored. They were never in it, we battered them. You’d struggle to know that was in a stadium without zooming in and seeing the red seats, none of which are in use. Absolutely incredible

Isak and Barnes were off the pitch at that point and I think we'd have been too heartbroken to push through for a winner and the crowd will have gotten anxious and restless etc
