Newcastle United vs. Chelsea: 11/05/25 @ 12:00 (TNT Sports)

The way they play in midfield does concern me a bit. It feels like our CB’s will get moved about a lot.

That said, we should be getting players close to Isak today. I think their defence can be got at. Colwill is not great, Caicedo is not a RB and Cucarella is much better going forward than defending.

I think we're going to try to dominate the middle with a very aggressive press from the a front three of Isak, Barnes and Gordon. Murphy at RWB and Tino at LWB being tasked with providing the width. I expect Burn in the centre of the three and Schär stepping out at times to allow one or both of Bruno and Tonali to push up.

I like that we've got a new formation as I've mentioned one of the only criticisms of Howe you could make is that we so often play the same formation. Lack of attacking options off the bench is a bit of a concern. Very nervous here.

Oh my, I am so excited to see this formation. Shame we don't have Hall at LB but wow, Chelsea won't have a fucking clue what to do with us because we've been 4-3-3 for 3 years.

We also setup like this against Arsenal in the second leg of the Carabao cup semi final.

I think Botman was central against Arsenal? I’d expect the same here. Either or, I’m not fussed

Aston Villa made the quarter finals, almost the semis. How are we not ready? Especially considering the money we are going to invest in the summer.

They have a much deeper squad than us, and brought in even more in jan.
