Think it makes more sense to have him on the bench. Start him and we get off to a bad start we will still likely need to bring him off after 45/60mins. Shak Posted August 13, 2025 Share Posted August 13, 2025 I suspect we won’t get him in time for the game this weekend but if we sign him by this time next week I’d expect he’ll start against Liverpool. Eddie tends to bed players in slowly but that’s because there are usually established starters in the position and the new guy has to earn it. I'm still holding on to hope that Wissa comes in puts his packed bags in the changing room and goes straight to the pitch to play but I'll accept having a focal point for Liverpool and a hattrick for Wissa, please and thank you. Knowing everything you know about how we work, how Eddie needs to drill instructions into players, how we'll have been working on the gameplan for Villa all week, and how little football Wissa has played this summer... We don't really have much choice since we can't sign an expensive elite CF without selling him (and we can't get one to join us) but I still think Wissa alone would be fairly challenging.
