Humbly disagree especially re Vardy even with hindsight... DCL's fitness has improved as he has played most weeks, we would have been expecting to use him as backup and the previous fitness issues would have been a major red flag against this.

Again no real knowledge same as everyone but IMHO Howe inherited any influence he was given because the lazy fat fuck of a DoF fucked off when it came time to hand his homework in after procrastinating for a year. Do you honestly think the manager would turn down a list of highly researched potential signings good enough to bolster his squad and help him achieve his aim of winning football matches?

Not sure that's entirely fair on Mitchell.

And re the last sentence, I think the manager might turn it down if he had preconceived ideas that he wasn't willing to allow even the DoF to talk him out of.

Mitchell left because he and Howe weren't seeing eye to eye on signings [emoji38]

Absolutely is fair on Mitchell.

Came in

Criticised the structure

Did absolutely nothing to change any of the structure

Fucked off

Basically got paid 18 months to do 2-3 interviews and waffle about how bad everything is

He can fuck right off.

I have a bit of skepticism of those quotes as anyone would given the amount of time he has had to recover and build his match fitness back up. Having said that I've always thought we wouldn't get the best out of Wissa until next season, let's not forget that he has never had a serious injury before and only ever missed 14 games in his entire career before he came here, to then suffer one that kept him out for 114 days and 27 games is a huge mountain to climb up for a 29 year old that has never experienced that before. Yes, he might look like he's disinterested, he might be at fault for not being as match fit as he could be, but this is the same manager that ostracised players such as Ryan Fraser so I have to trust him on this one.

My suspicion is there was a conversation between Howe and Mitchell along the following lines:

Mitchell: "The way we do things needs to change. Here's a list of lower cost continental targets I think we should consider."

Howe: "No, I need players ready to contribute now. We can't afford to take the risk."

Mitchell's then basically gone wtf and yeeted out of there.

you can’t deny that Eddie wants established EPL proven players.

Just had a look at his top transfers at Bournemouth, staggering amount bought from other English clubs, very different to the Bournemouth of today:

Jefferson Lerma – £25m (from Levante UD)

Nathan Aké – £20m (from Chelsea FC)

Dominic Solanke – £19m (from Liverpool FC)

Jordon Ibe – £15m (from Liverpool FC)

Philip Billing – £15m (from Huddersfield Town AFC)

Arnaut Danjuma – £14m (from Club Brugge KV)

Lloyd Kelly – £13m (from Bristol City FC)

David Brooks – £11.5m (from Sheffield United FC)

Benik Afobe – ~£10–11m (from Wolverhampton Wanderers FC)

Tyrone Mings – ~£8m (from Ipswich Town FC)

Howe had all of the gravitas at the time and wasn't having any of it really. Now things have turned and so I'm sure he'll be more open minded.

Lets see if he's able to hold on to his position with how things go the rest of the season now. Seems like it's going to be very touch and go as far as that's concerned.

Ibe and Afobe the only real big misses there. Solanke was the right player at the wrong time, went on to be great for them but was woeful under Howe. Ake the only real big success. Mixed bag really. Before this summer we'd barely missed in terms of transfers.

Heard a few weeks ago he’s had a big falling out with Eddie and most of the squad - mental how he never warmed up on Saturday

Heard he slipped out the treatment room and ate all the canteen bait before the other players could have any. Fat fucking pig.

Interesting, didn't know he didn't warm up.

Every time the camera went on him on Saturday he had a face like a smacked arse.

Apologies for going over old ground but if that is even close then it's another example of him not doing his job... Surely the role of the DoF is to manage the relationship with the manager \ head coach one way and the Chief Exec in the other is it not?

A well researched list of players filling the glaring holes in the squad would not be simply rejected by any manager \ head coach simply out of pettiness, I will accept that they may well have been push back but there should be and that is the challenge of the DoF to overcome it, not simply chuck his toys out the pram.  If indeed that is what happened.

Could be wrong but aren't our two or three most expensive signings ever from overseas with zero PL experience?

He's already on record as saying he's willing to work within the financial constraints the club now finds itself in. It will just depend on who ends up being the real boss in the recruitment scenario. Him or Ross Wilson.

Yes I know, that's why I said he appears to be more open minded now.

The problem is if results the rest of the way continue on as they have been of late I'm not certain he will still be in the job.

I'm starting to think that you can't really judge Wissa, Woltemade, Elanga etc on what they have achieved this season.

Most of our players look clueless and without confidence.

Surely not easy to build confidence and rhytm coming into a team that has none.

I thought about that months ago.

Get a new manager and some of them may undergo a Joelinton/Almiron/Murphy style revival.

Ideally, doing that now may be the best timing. The new manager can have a month to work with the current squad and get to know the players, the players would also understand what will be happening next season, and we can know which players want to leave regardless of who the manager is, which players should be get rid of, and hence planning our transfers earlier. Otherwise, any new manager would have to wait until after WC to really train with the players at all.

I try to take unconfirmed dressing room drama rumors with a grain of salt, but if he doesn’t shape up and produce, he’ll end up being an even worse signing than Elanga.

I said it on Saturday but because I don't like chicken nuggets and shit beer in plastic cups I watched him during the half time drills and the other players wouldn't even look at him.

Body language between the group and him was awful.

I have no issue with Eddie not using him if he's a cunt, but if that's the case, why is he in the match day squad at all?

If he’s a cunt why is he at Newcastle?
