Time for PIF to go to court to rip up these rule books so they can start evening the playing field.  This window has been nothing more than a coordinated attack from the cartel

If we’re offering equal money to Man Utd, the player is signing for Man Utd.

At some point the club will realise that if you’re after players that the big clubs want, you have to make yourself more attractive than them - I.e. offer more wages.  No-one is picking us over Man Utd regardless of what happened last season.  To do that with PSR, you need a much higher income; until then, you’re not shopping in the same market as them.

Almost as if the transfer strategy isn’t written in joined-up writing.

They've ruined the career of about 20 players they've signed in the past 5 year. That's not an exaggeration, go on TransferMarkt and flick back through the years, any player going there has been poorly advised.

I'd love that, but we just aren't that high on their priority list. Even in terms of purely sport based investment LIV and the Saudi Pro League are clearly way above us.

Your kidding aren’t you ? They are more interested in getting fsg to do business with them. Newcastle is problem more a networking tool.

*not 100% serious*

We aren't an insignificant investment - and the cartel have just totally bullied / embarrassed them.

The Diarra ruling will end them in a different way but that’s still probably a few years from being agreed as will be challenged.

Has been a very sobering window. I don't know where we go from here tbh.

We can keep Isak of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if he spends half the season injured and the other half moping about like he did for the last 10 games of last season.

Jacob's on it now. Sesko chooses Manure.

That's just a rehash of Romanos tweet, with the sources coming from Man Utd. Not saying it's wrong, but it's a) nothing new or b) anything worth paying attention to as it's coming from the potential buyer not the player or the selling club.

I agree, the club is a mess - but they still have the draw of being Man Utd.  And players will back their own talent - just because others have flopped, they won't think that they will.

I'm not arguing in favour of that logic, like.

The main reason I think he should have come to us is that I really believe that Howe would have taken him to another level and he would have then interested other big teams.

However, I would not be surprised to see Man Utd finish above us next season with the team that they have and without the pressures of European football. So I don’t think it’s that strange a decision that some are making out.

He's likely never heard of Eddie. You can go to Man U, shit water in the bed for 3 years and go to Napoli and get a raise.

Big sigh of relief from me. I was a bit worried yesterday he might join. Clearly he has been waiting for Man Utd and just stringing us along. No freaking way we should be paying 90m euros for Sesko. I much much rather we get Watkins/Ramos + Wissa. If Isak is going we need 2 proven strikers. Spending 90m euros on Sesko just does not make much sense.

Fail at Man Utd and your reputation doesn’t really diminish tbf. The only issue is wages getting a move elsewhere but you’re probably less arsed about that if you’re getting the bunce.

He won't get the Bunce unless he joins us. 😂

All while we turned Isak into one of the hottest properties in football, the idea that him and his advisors have been contemplating the pros and cons of the two moves like Yoda in the swamp for the last week and come up with Man U is laughable.

This is one of the dumbest transfer sagas we've been a part of, and that's saying something considering our track record. Bizarre. Just pick Manchester United and be done with it. Why have we not pulled out already if it's so clear what his choice is? Why would we help Leipzig get more money if it doesn't benefit us? What are we sticking around for?
