Ramsdale wasn't great today but your man Pope has been fucking crap for a while now, you have absolutely no ground to be so high and mighty. Presumably you didn't rate Bruno's performance today either.

Presumably you can't accept that?

We were clearly blindsided by Trafford switching to City. Ramsdale was a last minute save so don't think we can have too many complaints. Other than we should have tied Trafford up earlier. Vaj
They’re both not good enough for where we are now so it’s the lesser of two evils for me which is Ramsdale. If the only Pope issue was his passing I would accept him playing but he has made so many errors this year as well. Desperately need a new goalkeeper

But again is James Trafford the answer a keeper who's had one good season in his career. At champo level as well. Just get the best we can afford and stop complicating it. Developing keepers is what selling clubs do.

He has to start moving earlier. You can tell straight away it’s bad keeping. You feel that it shouldn’t be able to go in from that far out so slowly. It does go in slow but he doesnt expect it to come past 2 defenders. He reacts too late bc he thinks defenders have it covered.

Conjo
Don't think clumsy Nick Suezmax Pope the sloppy saves either of the goals today, but I'm sure his devoted believers will say he would. We're 10x better in possession with Ramsdale in the team. Thank god Pope is injured so Howe is forced to continue playing him.

Do you now see my point? Their mistakes don't/haven't always led to goals though. A keepers mistake often does, and costs games/points. Would Pope have done better on both goals tonight? Maybe, but we'll never know. But all keepers let weak goals in at times. Neither goal tonight was a 'mistake' or 'howler' by Ramsdale, unlike some of the recent ones Pope has let in. The second one would have rolled into his arms. He has great positioning.
