It was an option and like Michael Owen once said, it’s one big option. I’m not wincing every time the ball gets fired back to him. I’ve not seen him needlessly slice the ball out for a throw under minimal pressure. What is this sorcery?

I think he looked quite comfortable with the ball and a good penalty save to go with a decent performance. looks a good signing.

Good competition having two keepers with different attributes pushing each other. Can only benefit us in the long run.

Think he looked assured and composed, not that much he could do about both goals tbh.

 

Whether he's a good signing for us remains to be seen.

He's an outstanding shot stopper but has a howler in him (eg 1st minute against Southampton in 2023).

 

If he can get rid of the howlers he's one of England's best.

So it's nice to have a keeper who's decent with the ball at his feet...

 

...but one thing I've noticed about him since his Arsenal days is that I'm not always convinced he knows where the goal is. He seems to lose his posts at times

Really pleased with his calmness on the ball Not sure if he always has to play it short or if that was a tactical thing. 

 

At the very least its nice having a genuine option/alternative to pope will hopefully keep pushing the both of them to perform

That was my initial thought just wasn't sure. As it had no consequence to the final result I was secretly pleased for Bradford and the travelling support.

Agree on all of this. He does seem to lose his bearings a bit and it was a criticism at Arsenal. Like when he got distracted looking at that pigeon   
 

I also don’t think he looks that good on the ball and still has a bit of an awkward touch and style. But in comparison to Pope, he looks like Pirlo in his prime
