Fair play, he looks genuinely delighted to be here and that's always nice.

Yep. Deal structure looks a no brainer. 12 months cover hopefully paid for by a £2m Dubs sale.

Best upward fail since Faubert to Real Madrid

He didnt fail at Southampton, he was roundly praised for being one of their better players.

He didnt even fail at Arsenal, he was dropped for David Raya by Arteta after being in the PL TOTS.

I think we will be seeing a much more hardened version of Ramsdale here. Hes also an absolute character, which will warm him to the fans.

He does actually look happy to be here which is a good sign.

Players who have been brought up in England will understand what Newcastle is about even from a distance, get the feeling he will be really excited to be back on such a stage. That's worth a few million extra in itself.

The complete about face on here because he came across as a Really Nice Lad was inevitable [emoji38]

No it’s because of his background with Eddie Howe for me. Not following his career I personally didn’t know this, he drilled his thoughts on Howe home so much as well as his time with Pope, he’ll obviously know Livramento and will obviously be a great fit. A bit more of this Injected around the place at the moment has to be a good thing. When asked about the CL he pretty much even said “yeah that’ll be nice but it’s not why I chose to come here”.

Never thought he was great, but he is seriously much greater competition for Pope than any of our other 68 keepers. That alone could force Pope to be on his toes.
