What the fuck are Shearer, Murphy, Dion Dublin on about? Keep saying he was dropping too deep and should have been between the centre backs all game, despite ignoring that he was playing as a number 8/10 today 🙄

Was mad wasn't it. "He needs to stop dropping deep and play on the last line." Yeah just ignore the position your manager has asked you to play in tonight Nick, Dion wants you running in behind

There’s so much to this lad’s game if we manage him correctly there’s a really top striker here.

Like two days ago people wanted to sell him in the summer.

Buzzing for him tonight. Couldn’t watch too much of the game, but what I did see he looked good. Was just thinking after Tonali’s goals that it would be great for Nick to get a goal & confidence boost too.

I've been a really harsh critic of his this season and have refused to accept that he's just out of position. But that was a compelling argument right there that he is so. He did so much good on the ball and without the pressure of being the striker it was generally just very positive. And he scored anyway.

If that's anything to go by there's a future for him in this league I'm that withdrawn position. Whether that's with Eddie Howe is possibly another question.

Brentford and tonight highlighted how much better he is in a deeper role, he can really influence games. Still needs to get in the box more - I think that will come will more training , but I really hope we find a way to integrate him.

If we’re going to be playing 4-3-3 most weeks then we should.

I think the next move forward in football is more fluidity. There'll be 2 or 3 positional players in a team but the rest will be very mobile. Nicks technique could play into this especially if heis hold up play builds up.

Better tonight, got involved more and made a tackle I believe, saying that he was hardly great against the 10 men - some are talking like he's Zidane.
Still needs to get in the box more often and with more conviction to score goals - or just decide to play as a dm. He feels like a luxury but I really hope he becomes that goalscoring 10 type we all crave.

I think you’re right - but I still don’t think he had a particularly good game tonight.  Wasn’t a passenger, which is an improvement.

I agree. Showed bits but seems like he's waiting for his time to come. Got to keep on working and he is. He could be a piece of Carrera Marble that needs the right sculptor.

he was literally playing in the same position we play Joelinton in and Osula was up top. It was really obvious and I have no idea what these guys are watching most of the time . Pundits really think he’s like a modern day Peter Crouch or something when you hear them talk.
