Clear shift in over paying for “proven” Premier League players which we all wanted. All but secured a goalkeeper. In talks with a promising looking first team winger. Missed out to Brighton on a promising 18 year old who wouldn’t have been a starter. Got a good fee for Gordon. All in the first couple of weeks.

Aye, the game’s gone. Think a lot of us have been kidding ourselves for a number of years because football’s such an important part of our lives but the game’s gone to the point that it’s not coming back. That would be fine if it was turning into something new, adapting in a healthy way but as I and others have said far too often every governance decision that’s made is for profit and the benefit of those already with the most power. The whole thing stinks and it genuinely makes me really sad that I’m losing / have lost a part of life that felt like a proper escape

Absolutely, I hope we can build on this and get some momentum and positivity going.

More than anything, the squad needs an injection of new faces and personalities, it doesnt even matter of they are starters. I think its gone stale/toxic after Isak, Gordon situations and the likes of Willock still there. On the other hand, in last couple of years weve lost Lacelles, Richie and now Tripper.

 

Id really like to see another couple out of the door, if we can continue to recruit.

I will admit I was suspicious that he might be a patsy for Howe, but that was doing him a massive disservice. Look at what he did at Forest. He seemed to be signing players left right and centre. He certainly stitched us up royally with the Anderson/Vlachydimos deal...and Forest were also in PSR trouble at the time. Amanda and Ghoudussi get a free pass here for that, but that was part of the reason they were probably invited to leave.

Agree with all of this, really happy with him.

 

I like the fact that to my knowledge he hasn’t done an interview or owt like that either. Just come in and got on with it, rather than talking the talk.  I’m impressed.
