[FAC R5] - Newcastle United vs. Manchester City: 07/03/26 @ 20:00 (TNT Sport)

Recommended Posts

There's still some very winnable home games, potentially, so we can hope. I was resigned to us going out after drawing Villa away so I'll try and retain some positivity regardless.

Mind Mansfield or Wrexham at home and Liverpool ect playing one another would be nice.

Kind of want to avoid Wrexham. Losing to a lower league team would be bad, losing to a lower league team then Ryan Reynolds making a documentary about it for Disney Plus would be worse.

I guess the hope is that if we avoid the big ones, then anyone we do play have other things that they are focussing on.

Wrexham could be focussing on a play off push.

I think we could pull Chelsea and it will be away. Meaning we 'could' end up playing them x4 inside a couple of weeks. ???

Cup draws not being favorable to us this season.

If we where to get Chelsea in the FA cup on top of the 50/50 chance we get them in the Champions League too (Should we beat Qarabag), our fixture list at the start of March could be:

07/03/26 - Chelsea (H/A) - FA Cup

11/03/26 - Chelsea (H) - Champions League

14/03/26 - Chelsea (A) - Premier League

18/03/26 - Chelsea (A) - Champions League

Seemingly going to be a stacked R5.

Incredibly uninspiring R4 so far, like. Mansfield beating Burnley was cool but Burnley's existence is so meh that I feel like they could lose to literally anyone and it wouldn't feel like an upset. I think it might be Turf Moor. Proper ugly looking stadium on the tele.

Aye. I think Liverpool v Brighton and our game were the only all Premier League ties? Almost feels like it's seeded.

Can’t have been many times us and the mackems have both been in round 5, part of the reason we didn’t draw them for so long was both being so bad and not progressing far. Hope it’s not them.

Chat GPT says 1955. I don't believe that.

Would be interesting to see how they policed it. Designated service stations the lot.

It’d just be a nightmare on so many different levels.

1975/76 was the last time I think - both sides losing in QF - can’t be bothered to check all of them!

If that happened it still wouldn't be the most humiliating cup defeat by Wrexham.
