I have no doubt Howe will play his strongest side and this new formation has been paying dividends, giving us more attacking prowess and fluidity in the front 4. But this still feels like a dead rubber to end all dead rubbers, real futility as City start the march to league victory that they do every year. I'd rip every limb off for a draw here.

Disagree tbh. I think Arsenal chucking away two points last night will put a bit of pressure on City to win. That might end up affecting their fluidity, I would see this as an opportunity to turn the screw a bit.

Could see us clicking and everything going right to comprehensively beat someone and this is the game I was thinking it would happen. As we never win here this for me would have been the game for that, in terms of comprehensively beating Man City I’m talking 3-1 win or so.

This seemed to happen last night though where everything clicked, which I would have been happy with any result to get us back to SJP. Now with a relatively free week for most of the players next week, for the first time in months, I see this as our last test before “a week off” for some and we go there all guns blazing. Eddie’s new setup appears to be working well so I still go for a great 3-1 win here. HWTFL

The loss doesn't feel quite as nailed on to me, 6-1 CL away wim aside I think we're finding a bit of form and a danger to anyone. Could do with not conceding any shite flukey early goals

After an absolutely magnificent 3 away wins I'm, at present at least, pretty calm about this one. Expecting the usual defeat but, unless it comes with further injuries and or a ridiculously high scoreline, I'll quickly get over it.

I think we will give them more of a game than usual at the Etihad.  They've been much improved of late, but still seem to have their second half slump and they are always wide open at the back whenever I watch them.

Probably still lose 3-1.  But with the way the last 3 games have gone and the positivity that has been generated.  I don't think it would be the end of the world.  As long as the performance is still decent enough.

If we don't concede early, avoidable, shit goals like the cup game.  Then who knows.

Mental that they've scheduled us to play on Saturday after playing in fucking Baku on Wednesday. Not expecting anything from this as a result, it's a free hit in my eyes

It would be even more mental if they scheduled us to play on Sunday given the second leg is Tuesday.

Hope we just give them a game tbh. I want this run at that ground to end as soon as possible but it’s felt like we haven’t even made a fist of it down there since 22-23 when we missed a fuck ton of chances. 23-24 we barely laid a glove on them despite having a decent amount of the ball. The rest of the performances down there this decade mostly heinous.

It's also mental that UEFA scheduled Wednesday followed by Tuesday

Ambitious but I like it. Tonali, Barnes and maybe a header from BDB.

We can dream.

I just think this is the perfect storm for a bit of a hiding. I prefer your thinking.

I imagine (although I don’t know) it probably relates to TV rights. So the likes of Amazon only have a Tuesday game, so contractually, they probably have to have access to all teams across the two legs. Or something like that.

No time for the team to even prepare for this game with all the traveling involved.

Nice of them to move it to a late kick off to give them a few more hours.

Not sure how the travelling fans get back...
