I’m not being negative for the sake of it. There are caveats but those creative numbers don’t seem too good considering Gordon himself wasn’t that creative. are we sure he can break down a defence that will sit  in a low block and deny space? I’m not sure.

What’s Gordon’s stats at the same age like in comparison to Víctor ?

From the clips I’ve seen, he looks a real threat in transition. Gordon’s pace is hard to replace, but he looks about as close as you’ll get. Looks better than Gordon 1v1 as well, and there seems to be a finish on him too.

Obviously it’s only highlights, but he looks very Howe-coded to me. It certainly looks like Eddie’s had his input on this one, and I’m all for it. Like it or not, managers need players who fit their style, otherwise you just end up with a mishmash of signings.

Is anyone ever sure of anything when buying a young player to bring into a new league?

No, Ofcourse not. But I also hoped we’d transition to a different profile of winger too. From what I’m seeing he looks like more of the same of what we’ve had.

There’s every chance he’s a good player and can do well. But from what I’m seeing and reading he doesn’t strike me as what we need to fix our problems.

Gordon wasn’t super creative but from what I remember from last seasons stats his expected assists were greater than his goal threat.

This lad seems more a goal threat than assist threat.

Looks a talent got a trick.  Prefer a Ligue 1 winger to a La Liga winger, feeling of La Liga fullbacks not being so physical.

Tough tough challenge replacing Gordon. This guy reminds me a bit of Bellamy meets Barnes (great striking technique).

One thing I think he has over Gordon - he does look like he can skin a player with a clever feint. Looks like he can spot a clever through ball as well.

Ive only ever Dennis Wised this lad but what i will say is that fast, dynamic wingers have always been needed/wanted at SJP.

In order to get the crowd behind you at home, you need players who are going to get you off your seat. We all know how crucial our crowd can be and if we have more players with a bit of pace, or someone who can beat a man it can add to that electricity in the stadium

Gordon did it for a while, I cant say Murphy, Barnes or Elanga have that swaz but historically weve had flying wingers, Ginola, Ben Arfa, ASM, Gillespie etc.

Can we have another one for the right hand side too please. 🙏

We’ve not signed a passer since Bruno. Maybe Hall but he’s more dribbley.

At some point you must get some more passers.

Agreed with all wants in terms of player profile its a balance we need a variety of players enough of a certain type to link up well together but also something different for a certain opponent/situation or dare we hope a plan B

So another runner basically?

Just because someone is quick doesnt mean they arent good footballers, in fact its actually a positive thing believe it or not.

Looks like he can strike a ball from distance. Only Barnes and Tonali capable of doing that in the current squad. Schar too actually.

Murphy? (Granted hes had a shocker of a season)

It’s a big reason I’m in no rush to sell Tino, Tonali unless they want to leave. We’ll replace our best players with similar profiles.  It’s the Wlanga/Murphy, dare I say Joelinton we can look to have slightly different profiles
