Ishmael
Now all we need to do is remove all the other SD advertising from around the ground and (somehow) replace our current sponsor.

Ishmael
And if they could take down the black and gold stand name signs from outside the ground too, that would be ace.

mattypnufc
The cynic in me suggests that shirt sales haven't exactly set the world alight and they needed some good press.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
what's even better is they've roped Pedro in to do it. http://www.nufc.co.uk/javaImages/34/63/0,,10278~11952948,00.jpg http://www.nufc.co.uk/javaImages/31/63/0,,10278~11952945,00.jpg http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20130521/magpies-legend-paints-a-fresh-chapter_2281670_3185865

Rosenrot
The worse thing is that they obviously know what we hated it and yet still persisted until there was a suitable 'marketing opportunity.' We're not customers ffs, we're fans. Sums up everything that is wrong with modern football.
Dave
Just need to take them off the East Stand now. I'd rather there wasn't any at all but I could accept the one on the Gallowgate front if it was the only one. The East Stand ones are particularly ridiculous because they're the same size as the name of the club ffs. Still, small mercies and that.
LRD
Lovely news. Are they paying extra to remove the SD gallowgate sign or it was part of their initial deal? If the latter, please remove the SD signs next to 'Newcastle United' too. With gratitude.
bowlingcrofty
Ashley is a proper evil genius mind. Whack up his hideous logo, get some free advertising (including on Google Maps), then get paid to remove it.
Newcastle Fan
In a way the official website article is dissing Sport direct. which is quite odd as the owners are the ones who decided to put this monstrosity there in the first place.
LRD
In time for the RWC too so we save on blocking the SD sign with a huge cover.

Dave
I bloody love Wonga at the moment, might get a loan out. Just as long as you don't pay it back on time.
AyeDubbleYoo
If they do the front of the main stand as well I'll take out a highly uncompetitive loan tomorrow. Don't even mind if they break my legs when I can't pay it back.

Guest icemanblue
It will be like when it snowed this season and it got covered If the snow was sponsored by evil debt mongers. Questionable business ethics, I'll give you. But, that's harsh.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Wonga have played a blinder on this too, tbf. IMO I'd much rather have their logo on our shirts and nowt on the roof than vice versa.
