  1. Past hour
  2. Yep, I always try to avoid any decency bias with these things and felt like they were a one man band from the start of the season for a few months.
  3. Bruno F is a wonderful player. However, if Man U's talismanic captain midfielder can still get in a PL team of the year, in a season where they are 16th with 2 games to go, and on a points total low enough for relegation, then it really does hit home how truly dogshit the rest of the team must have been.

    Alexander Isak

It was more the standing and walking around like he didn't give a shit at various points in the match when he should've been doing other things etc. Strictly speaking I had him down as our worst performer. But I really don't believe in the slightest that was down to a lack of effort, though. Having a bad touch, yeah fair enough that happens.
  5. He was in TOTS in 20-21 wasn't he? Looking at some of the other brilliant players who've been in it over the years, being in it more than once is rarer than you'd think. Aguero, Kane, Terry, Cole, and Lampard were only in it twice.
  6. You can’t really argue with his attacking output. I’m not having the ball recoveries one as a useful metric here, mind. Man U’s midfield is wide open and they get played through at will. Of course he’s going to get no end of opportunities to recover the ball. It’s a bit like the duels one for our Bruno. He is so slow and almost actively wants to get in a duel every time he has the ball. It’s his way of beating players, it seems
  7. I absolutely do not want to sell him. As a one on one defender. There aren’t many better in the league. But I’m hoping next season when he moves back to RB. He can be just as effective as he has been playing at LB. He wasn’t playing particularly well at RB earlier in the season. Certainly not going forward. I hope Howe and co can get some confidence into him so he might attempt a shot or a killer pass a bit more often. He gets in great positions over and over. But always seems reluctant to pull the trigger. The only goal he has scored came from him basically running it into the net
  8. Was only a kid at the time but Sheffield United v Coventry City has proper 1992-4 Sky Monday Night Football vibes.
  9. No I havent been watching him like a hawk, I have watched a couple of Man United games though. And in everyone of them your team got ran all over in the midfield.
  10. Half of the prem wants him but Terrymac1966 knows better
  11. 'There's Nothing I Won't Do' is faaaar superior to 'Dirty Son Of A Gun' mind.
  12. Not like I'm suggesting Onana should be in the team.
  13. I was absolutely putting in players who I think have had the best season to be honest. This has been one of his best for us. The Guardian summed it up well to be fair. They have him in their team of the year: "In a dismal season for United, Fernandes has been one of the few bright spots. Ruben Amorim’s captain has worn criticism throughout his United career but only Kevin De Bruyne (90) has more assists across all competitions in Europe’s top five leagues than Fernandes (80) since the Portuguese joined United in 2020. Fernandes has eight goals and nine assists this season but what is less noticed is his effectiveness in deeper areas. Only Ryan Christie and Moisés Caicedo have more ball recoveries than Fernandes, who also leads the league (by a distance) in progressive passes (231)." You lads won't know about his effectiveness in deeper areas, or his progressive passes etc. which is fair as you don't watch him. He has been phenomenal this season, which is why I'm scared of losing him because we're just so shit everywhere else despite how amazing he has been.
  14. Would agree with most of what you've said. We want Amorim to change the culture, and he's doing that. Dickheads like Rashford and Sancho are being shifted. New keeper is important. Onana has periods were he was playing well, but he's a total liability and has cost us a ton of points. I think we're OK at CB personally and it's not somewhere we'll be looking at this summer. Just a sign of shit scouting I would assume. He was absolutely signed as a striker, and he's anything but. He definitely has a role as a #10 in this system though and was playing fairly well before his injury. Very tidy football with decent creativity, but ultimately not someone who'll take you to the next level. Correct. Hojlund has went backwards this season. Literally. He spends all of his time with his arse in a defender instead of making runs. Garnacho is getting better as well, but is still very greedy and doesn't pass to Hojlund. Amad is much less selfish, and his return should mean a few more goals for Hojlund.
  15. We arent talking about who has had the best career here or even who has had the best season overall, but team of the year in the PL. I think Bruno Fernandes is a very good and underrated player, but he isnt getting into team of the season in the PL this year.
  16. 100%, why haven't they cottoned onto this, we need experts not pundits, I watched a game on tv in Turkey a few years ago with an analyst from Spurs, it was fascinating what he was spotting.
  17. Like most footballers, he’ll end up at the club that offers him the biggest wage packet.
  18. Wish TV punditry had the same tactical insight.
  19. Both really to be fair. Think the eye test is the ultimate test, but stats are hard to argue with. When a central midfielder is averaging nearly 40 G&A a season for like 8 years straight, when do people take notice? This season has been one of his best for us believe it or not. A season that has also made me feel very sorry for him.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

With regards to Delap, his next move is massive for him. He needs to consider it really carefully, as the coach he’s going to play for is probably more important than the club. Sign for someone like Howe or Emery and he’s Englands next main man up top. Sign for someone like Postacoglu or the current mess that’s Man United and he could well end up as a bench merchant at West Ham in a couple of years.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We paid £40m for Tino when he was an unproven talent coming back from an ACL injury. Now, there’s a good chance he’s England’s right back for the next decade. They’re looking at £80m-£100m for us to consider it.
  22. Today
  23. Tonali / Isak / Burn / Hall / Gordon are only hands off players for me, for their current quality, years to come, leadership or style of play. Everyone else has a price in this modern day.
  24. He’s a perfect striker in todays game, had running beyond a back line that teams hate. He's not finished article, but then any 2nd striker we sign shouldn’t be as Isak is that, and Howe can take them to next level. For £30m, he’s a great pick up but looks like going elsewhere.
