Hoping Everton can summon up a bit of fight this afternoon knowing they've only got 3 more games left at Goodison. Go out on a bit of a high and send their fans home happy with one last big scalp etc
-
The scary part is that I imagine some of them are happy Eddie got ill; they probably think he deserves it. They will never say it but they seem to be completely broken with unhinged emotion since the cup win.
-
I think Botman is supposed to eventually develop into the Schar replacement. But I agree with what was said earlier here, not a single CB in football profiles like Fab.

Proper hard game this one. Villa beat PSG who’s arguably the best team in Europe at the minute and I can imagine exiting the Champions League in such a way isn’t going to affect morale. Their squad is so well balanced now too. Id be really happy with a point. It’s one of those games that no result would surprise me though.

Appreciate you’re approaching this fairly and it’s clearly a sensitive issue that I certainly don’t think Guehi has handled well. I sincerely hope the squad stays likeable when you guys get to watch them! But how do you know he doesn’t like you mate? This is the point I’ve been trying to say and I don’t think it’s helpful to anyone to infer someone’s views are hateful because of a poorly thought out gesture. He might love everyone but feel he has to have certain views on what is right and wrong based on his (in our view, backward) environment that he’s been brought up in? It doesn’t mean he likes the LGBTQ community any less or not want them at their games, clubs etc. I know this sort of thing because it’s the environment I was in for over 20 years - typically loving and kind people who don’t dislike people because of their sexual orientation and think everyone including themselves are sinners. I appreciate the topic of gay marriage becomes very difficult here, so it ends up becoming conflicting to them and likely that’s happened with Guehi here. There are many Christians the above doesn’t apply to mind, but thankfully no evidence of that with Guehi.

Aston Villa vs. Newcastle United: 19/04/25 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

I don’t feel nervous about these games anymore really. It’s a hard game, we could lose, that’s sport. We’ll give it everything and they won’t relish playing us. We also have more than enough games to collect the points we need. Really hope we beat them obviously. -
And he's gone

2 hours left for any tight arse stragglers 😉 The price of a bottom shelf Easter egg or half an Aldi special gets you the chance to dream. Put ya ££s where ya XG is 🤞

When I was young and had no sense I bought a flute for 50 pence The only song that I could play Was fuck Eddie Howe and the Toon Army* And after that I bought a drum And all I could play was fuck the scum And after that I bought a guitar And all I could play was fuck Shearer** Packet of sweets and a Portuguese tan, Eddie Howe has Maddie McCann * Pronounced Armay because Army doesn't rhyme with play ** Pronounced Sheerar because Shearer doesn't rhyme with guitar.

It's so weird when a player trains to the point that his crossing is much better, his shooting is much better, and his on field intelligence and runs are a lot better and this feels so wildly unusual, i mean if murphy can do it can every other 'middling' winger? In truth reflects marvelously on his attitude, and the fact that he has got better so steadily it was hard to notice. He went from pretty useless to being a reliable decent runner who didn't really contribute creatively enough to this. I wonder is the the trick is he did it so under the radar opposition scouts havent been reporting him as a threat back and so he never gets doubled up on? He also reminds me a bit of how Pep deployed Sterling when he was good, not so much in style of play but in terms of just making sure at all times there is threat from out wide to stretch defence and stop teams just defending super narrow and deep. Turns out if you have a player always willing to press, always willing to run at defence, always willing to be direct every minute of the game they pick up goals and assists

Fair, but the fans did by and large encourage the takeover. Hope my summary above explained things . I see no evidence he’s being the awful human he’s been made out to be.
-
Perhaps he just needs all things to be fair and equal?

I skim read that and added another word between cerebral and looking, was very confused what angle you were going for with the display... -
Oooof, doesn’t inspire confidence
-
If Lewis Hall hadn’t been injured for the end of the season he’d be my player of the season. As it stands it’s between Tonali and Murphy. Tonali probably takes it but in terms of a player playing at their limit almost every game I don’t think anyone matches Murphy
-
Aye, needs to knock that shit on the head. You’re a keeper in the championship, have some humility lad. You can act the big lad when you’ve come to Newcastle and won the premier league

Dunno if there’ll be a right moment for this but it might be nice to do a dedicated Tindall flag when Eddie gets back. Maybe one mad dog, one cerebral-looking dog and Tindall in the foreground. -
Maybe they're actually just one person who's an absolute beast and wants to earn two sets of wages?
-
Brilliant interview with Downey, bet there are very few assistant managers who could step into the limelight as seamlessly as Tindall has done. Don’t think there’s any reason to be worried, they’ve obviously decided that Howe will focus on his recovery and he trusts the rest of the staff to continue the work until he’s ready. I think this kind of stuff is almost as pleasing as the football results TBH, such a long way away from Charnley doing every executive role and How’s the Bacon giving everyone half the week off.

Watching Hearts v Aberdeen in the Scottish FA Cup Semi on BBC iPlayer. That bloody Mitov that had a worldie against us for Cambridge on Trippier's debut is the Aberdeen keeper.

That interview and growing up as a Chelsea fan in Cumbria...stay clear.

I'm a bundle of nerves already for this one. I think it will be a really hard game and I'll be more than happy if we don't lose
