The plucky Brighton story isn’t quite the glorious underdog tale the media loves to make out. Between Bloom taking over the club and the end of the 2020/21 season, Brighton spent £259m on players and sold £40m as they went from League 1 to the Premier League. Bloom also weighed them in with just under £500m of interest free loans to build the AMEX and fund the club. Since 2021/22 they’ve had the reputation of being canny buyers and sellers - fine, but they’ve still signed £410m of players and sold £337m, a net deficit of £72m. Add that to the £218m deficit from the prior decade, the majority spent in lower leagues. The fact is Bloom has done a good job to create an established club with good balance sheet value. However, let’s not make out it’s all been through canny trading and youth team products. That’s why it rankles when the capitalist shithouse bleats on about FFP and playing by the rules whilst backing his paymasters to pull the ladder up on other clubs. The private equity wanker he is.

Didn’t they spend £250 mill last summer?

I find Brighton’s approach depressing in a lot of ways but you could never compare it to Ashley. Brighton do it because it’s the way they think they can survive/compete in the PL best. I think it’s boring and soulless and I would never want it for us, but I guess if they can’t generate the money for a more ambitious approach. It’ll keep them around the right end of the PL for as long as they get the signings right.

    2025 Gold Cup

Bit early considering it's not till March but Galopin De Champs looks like the favourite, Fact To File for me though if he has a good season, for e/w backers id go Banbridge

I still think Brighton's transfer policy and squad management are top notch. They consistently collect amazing talents at great prices. Even somebody like Gruda, who started to make an impact towards the end of the season, would've been among our most creative players. Not convinced by their manager though and imo the real limitation there is THEIR FANS .. I might be wrong, but they simply lack the ambition, the desire to be successful there.. Their seasons always start strong and fizzle out in silence at their stadium in the new year.. Tony Bloom has done wonders but I think for the next step he might need to scout some new fans.
  8. I think it’s just because he’s had a very poor season and is a bit of a risk, even at 17m. He’s honestly looked awful for 6 months now. We have the money to push on and buy a real PROVEN quality addition for that right-wing spot, which is what we’re going to do imo.
  9. Struggle to see how most football fans will be expected to muster the enthusiasm for it.
  10. All faux outrage, the daft cunt was posting about the amount of money we will have to spend. The faux outrage came later. As for Exile, I presume he maybe dead as no way would he have suddenly stopped his mission
  11. Thought that was the dollar.
  12. On RTG on of the posters said he is in the band and going to have a quiet word with him about trying to avoid the football slant. If he actually is, I hope Fender yells him to fuck off and never books him/group to appear again

Guess that's the nature of Brighton's policy. Just a hip version of Ashley. Arrive cheap with the promise after a few years you can go to a big club. Rinse and repeat. No ambition.

Should lower the price a little (if he’s asked to leave).
  17. Aye, it can be very frustrating missing on seemingly great deals for popular young talents while we're fixated on expensive established PL players. Compiling the manic shortlist, it's evident for me, that pure football ability and potential is simply not enough for Eddie. Not even, coupled with physical qualities and a decent fee. Imo, the main thing that our transfer team is fixated on is personality and character. Although I've spent hours defending Eddie that he's not obsessed with british players, I think there might be a preference for local players after all. Simply because we can collect much more extensive data on their personality, background, entourage etc.. than we can from some dodgy foreign agent. I might be wrong but I think we simply lack the business connections the top clubs have in the european market, so it's harder for us to guarantee that some young millionaire is not a complete twat.. which reminds me of Bakayoko's wiki picture

This is what happens when you base your whole existence as a club on buying players to sell them on for profit. See Mike Ashley’s NUFC in the “French era” for an earlier iteration. Loving it, Tony Bloom’s cuck cunt club getting what it deserves.

They have a lot of players but very few of them are elite or have elite potential.

Got to admire the dedication of Roker Mackem, has been chipping away for nearly four years now, and still nobody gives a fuck 🤣😅🤣. Is Exile still around? Keef gave me a lifetime ban so can't see Parsnip anymore 🤣
