Probably from the understanding that we'll have to sell someone who commands a good fee soon if we want to progress. I don't think it'll happen this summer, but someone we love is going in the next year. Not condoning it, but I think thats what it is.
-
He’ll be a very good buy for a club, but he needs to join one that’s got a clear slot at LW ready. Liverpool as Diaz replacement is logical, as he’d nail that down ahead of Gakpo.
-
It was the placement of the Brown Ale logo which made it "different" to other kits at the time. Sure, the colour scheme itself was wild. But you don't see the sponsor's logo being part of a kit design nowadays. It's jus plastered on nowadays.
-
I think the goalie shirt that went with it was a corker. Hopefully adidas remake that too next season:
-
I think it's just unique in terms that it's that bad its actually quite likeable in weird, roundabout sort of way. I think the adidas trefoil version next season of it could be a banger.
-
It is. Weird as fuck. See also selling Barnes. It's either FM indoctrination, boredom or stupidity 😉
-
Think that's done in some European leagues like thr Bundesliga iirc. I don't have a problem if the 18th placed Prem team were any good or atleast a good day out for away fans to visit again. But imagine it was fucking Southampton again and they beat Coventry. Fuck going down to their place again for a 1230pm Saturday game or 8pm Monday night football in December to play the shittest of the shittest.
-
Screams Chelsea flop to me. Why are we looking to sell Gordon all of a sudden? Weird.
-
Go further. 3 up 3 down and 4th&5th top play 4th&5th bottom either 2 legs or 1 neutral final to swap or keep places.
-
Realistically considering how bad Bristol City have been and how often that team that finishes in that position actually manages to get promoted. How about scrapping the play offs and making whoever finishes 3rd in the championship have a two legged game against whoever finishes 18th in the Premier League. Would be interesting to see how often the Championship team in 3rd is better than the Prem team in 18th.

Is this not our LW answer? Sell Gordon to Liverpool. Or is that deal dead now? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Gittens

Crazy stuff. All those double gameweeks, surely you could have got rid.

Wouldn't rely on Forest regardless, but if they lose to West Ham, they will in all likelyhood be going into the Chelsea game without a chance of getting 6th. In one way that could discourage them, but in another way they won't have the pressure that they have been crumbling under lately.

Got both my wildcard and free hit to play for the last two weeks.

The shirt was interesting because it’s so bad though, no? It’s not a design classic it’s notable because it’s really weird. I had Barnes 10 on the back, so I have a soft spot for it But I didn’t think it had any significance for the history of the club. -
Aye I'm hoping it has a hook of some form, cos it went from a unique monstrosity to a rather generic looking throwback offering. I guess no matter what they're in a pickle given the sponsor will never reach the heights of the OG sponsor, and the asymmetrical positioning was what made that kit interesting. Imagine making Sela (or any modern sponsor) the focal point in the same way.
-
Got it with Tino on the back. Cunt left before he ever wore it I think!
-
Interesting that they have decided not to go with the orange and green stripe down one side, which is obviously what made that kit so unique.

I wouldn’t like to see us revert to an old crest. I think each crest defines an era and that’s how it should stay. Id love to keep the current crest, but can see why they want to change it. What I don’t like is the sly way of forcing it through, like one sided surveys and using deliberately crap pictures of the current crest to make their point. Ultimately, if the main reason why they want to change the crest is because it’s too complicated to manufacture, then they need better manufacturers. -
Hope there were no MLFs tuned into Talksport this morning. Simon Jordon saying he expects Coventry to turn this around at Sunderland and had a pop at their home crowd as well. Mentioned the time when he owned Crystal Palace. Said they played Sunderland in the Play Offs back in 2004. They were warned to expect a barrage of noise and a proper hostile environment but it was nothing of the sort. Stadium nowhere near full and Palace ended up going through on pens. Still don't see Coventry winning. Sunderland are bad but sadly Coventry are worse again. They were fighting relegation when Lampard came in and although he's done a remarkable job to get them where they are there's a reason why they lost 17 league games in the weakest Championship probably ever.

Aye, he's not been an auto cap for ages. Haaland either...
