It's interesting, zero noises about Bruno this summer, this time last year the noise around his clause relentless.
-
The point is that none of us know exactly what is going on behind the scenes. We are notoriously quiet about our dealings so I would say it's incorrect to assume nothing is happening. If we're still sitting here having signed no one by mid-July, then I will start freaking out myself. I expect we will be busy over the next month. And while I like Mbeumo, we can't pay him 180k/pw. We can't pay anyone that yet and I wouldn't want him to be the first. Maybe Isak's new deal can hit that mark. It's shit that ManUtd can pay those types of wages due to their huge commercial revenue advantage, but they can. Hopefully we cut into that advantage over the coming years. Until we do, wages will be a stumbling block for a certain type of player.

We were linked for a while. Seemed like the price (60mill I think) took us to Sven.
-
Might be wrong but I seem to recall that Watford wanted a big fee for Pedro so we backed out and they then got him to sign a new contract. I think Watford then sold him to Brighton the following window for less than they wanted from us.

What's people's thoughts on Ousmane Diomande? He used to get hyped loads a year or so ago, now the hype has died down. 21 years old, 6ft 3, rapid, good 1 v 1, amazing in the air, and supposedly very progressive with his passing / making runs. €80m release clause, though he has 2 years left on his deal now, so wonder if it could be negotiated lower. Highly praised, good data metrics but most importantly, he passes the YouTube highlights test

I'm not so sure Man Utd would be as big a draw if it weren't for the wages right now
-
How is this known by anyone?
- Today

Not quite so easy when the reported 'primary' targets are the ones that the other clubs are doing business for. Despite footballing logic right now, Man U are still a bigger draw to players, plus wages. Chelsea, bigger draw plus wages. And so on atm until it reaches our turn so to speak.
-
Or be David Moyes.
-
Didn’t receive any email about auto renewing and had money taking out what on earth is going on.
-
Eddie wants us to move early, and the club needs to move early to secure primary targets. Agreed it's only the 3rd but other clubs have started doing business.
-
2nd half away at Brentford I think.
-
Got to remember as we get better players we can be more flexible and have more options. We can stop being a 433 team and alter it on a game by game basis. The way we ended the season I wouldn't be comfortable in saying we are a back 3, 4 or 5 team. Same can happen throughout the team.
-
It’s not many times it has happened, but we have played with Isak/Wilson together. Sure it was the Fulham game where we ended up winning 1-0. We looked pretty good from what I remember. Certain games Isak could definitely do with a hand up there.
-
A little brother for Bruno and Big Joe.
-
Think it was Douglas who said it when talking about our striker targets.
-
Still none the wiser here like, nothing gone out the bank no email saying anything has failed. Good distraction from all the transfer rumours TBF.
-
If we were to go with two up top like he did at Bournemouth, yeah.
-
Top 8 is definitely enough. Just need to see improvement now. We're an easy fanbase to keep on your side. Just don't lose every other game.
-
Not that ridiculous, but still too much for us. I'd take him for £55m.
-
West Ham want £65 million for Kudus.
-
Was kind of thinking you'd need to be loitering around the top 8 or so by then. Long summer ahead as well so maybe too early to say. Don't know what your thoughts are or whether that'll be enough. Edit, as a minimum or whether that's a fast enough improvement, no idea what the expectations are.
-
Wouldn’t mind dropping 50m for Maignan plus either Thiaw or Tomori
-
I don't know why anyone is even negative? Because Mitchell is leaving? A couple of weeks ago we were buzzing for this summer.
