They didn’t just spend a billion to buy Newcastle United. The bein thing was a geopolitical mess; being in a high-profile dispute with a major FIFA power over pirating World Cup broadcasts doesn’t exactly scream “take us seriously” on the global football stage.
-
Great album that but it was 04. 03 was 50, Get rich or die trying. Both are some of my favourite albums.
-
His seeming refusal to do any sort of intense pressing surely rules him out of our scouting immediately.
-
Mudryk finally charged I see. Wonder what 'levers' Capitalist Todd will pull to get out of coughing up the rest of the 80 mil they owe
-
“At odds with United over the deal”… accounting for the vile use of United, we’re at odds with them because we’re not remotely interested in a deal
-
I didn’t. The College Dropout is the name of the 2003 debut seminal album by the now disgraced artist - Kanye West. And that is my point. You went to the one top university (could be wrong) in the north east, I had my pick of 3. You got your own funding (well done mate), I rode someone else’s train - and again - had my pick of opportunities. And this is coming from a rough neighbourhood and a literal blue collar family. It’s definitely possible in other areas. You are living proof. But it is easier in London because there are more opportunities and money floating around. If I was from a deprived part of Bradford, I don’t think I would have had the same life outcomes. There’s no bus to take em to central London for £1 to get a start in a career.

Let's not do any business with the Sky 6 for our top players. Reject all offers from them. Do a Daniel Levy! Selling Isak or Gordon to Liverpool would be a disaster – then Tino's off to Man City and we're back to being a feeder club. Just say no to all Prem teams. I'd much rather see Isak in Barcelona than Liverpool, even if it means less money.
-
I’m not convinced our scouting network has been transformed since Mitchell said it wasn’t fit for purpose, I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised if a PL based player like Rashford who can play across the front 3 is somewhere on the list.
-
I mostly agree, not sure I'd go as far as bad but certainly boring. I did still order the home kit when it went on sale with Burn on the back, but I would have ordered pretty much any kit we won something in especially when a local lad scored the opening goal.
-
Can't believe there's 2 first teamers from 2019 playing. That feels like a life time ago, but is only 6 years ago.
-
Kenedy there as well
-
He’ll go where he’s paid more.

nemtizz changed their profile photo

Did they not pay Bein a billion pounds just before the takeover was approved to settle the piracy? Still of the opinion it was approved because we had the PL by the bollocks on the competition case, but nonetheless a pretty big outlay I don’t think they’re paying if they weren’t buying us.
-
Big Salomón Rondón Didn't realise he was playing for Pachuca. Even more reason to tune in.
-
I certainly don't feel they haven't invested enough but it's such a subjective subject as could they have invested more? Yes? Will they invest more? Likely. Have they done enough well time will tell and I don't have the knowledge in the field or all of the knowledge of each of the components to sway anyone one way or another. I don't need them to foot the bill on a 1 billion stadium for instance for them to prove anything to me. However I am still not entirely sure what the intent is with us outside of an amazon doc saying win it all best in class etc.

Ranking is based on last four seasons performance ranking but you can't have more than two teams from one country (unless they all won the CL/Libertadores/equivalent - as is case of the Brazilian teams). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_FIFA_Club_World_Cup_qualification Working down you ultimately get to Salzburg in 18th due to process of elimination. I'm sure they'll make sure to close that loophole next time and allow more teams from one country.
-
Again tho, after Cardiff changed their kit to red and the subsequent backlash the FA made a rule that they have the power to block such moves. It’ll never happen so pointless worrying about it
-
Fair enough.
-
I'd say it's fair to include the purchase price in a statement like "they've spent X amount on us". I don't know where the £338m mentioned comes from, but I'd be amazed if it e.g. included sponsorship money they have brought in through related parties like Sela, Noon and Saudia. All told I'd say they (the owners combined) have invested well over half a billion in us and probably closer to 750m. By my definition that's the best part of a billion, and it's only the beginning too. Are people seriously suggesting our owners haven't invested enough? Quite what were you expecting post Ashley if I may ask?

"Aright lads nee need to worry aboot selling wor best players, or building the stadium and training ground and divent worry aboot players coming in, Eddie's wish is our command, fuck Sunderland "
-
They were spot on last season to be fair you're right i just think I really liked the Castore ones and even the previous addidas ones I wasn't a fan off for the most part

Name changes are fundamental - not sure how I feel about kit tbh; most are the result of random choices taken in a Victorian sports shop. I’d rather not, of course (though I have always thought that dark blue shorts - like we had for our first few decades - would look alright)
