  3. Elanga over Madueke for me purely for the Swedish link up with Isak.
  4. Think its just spending £30mil on a random Greek teenager "could be a class signing" despite nobody seeing him play was just weird to me
  5. The Southern Spreadsheet Nonces fiddling with their data models.
  6. The thing is these Elangas and DCLs and Pedros have been playing in EPL for long. We have seen them and I at least think they are nothing special. Is it wise to spend 60 million or something on Elanga? Is he kind of player that takes the next step here? Does Pedro break into Brazil team here and got 10-20 goals a season? Greek lad is a lottery ticket, but Brighton are pretty good with these picks
  7. Definitely. I've noticed this especially with Serie A recently.
  8. France beati Germany 2-0. Tonight Spain vs Portugal.

When he was at Watford (18yo) he was seeing a 15yo. (Legal age of consent is 14 apparently in Brazil)
  11. Madueke looks a better player technically. I don’t think he plays in a raw way. I view him as an all fart no shit type player. Not decisive in the box. His ceiling would be higher but I’m unsure about him mentally. Elanga has that dawg in him.
  12. What's actually going on at Milan? The Reijnders fee seemed suspiciously low. Now Maignan and Theo Hernandez getting sold on the cheap too?

Have I remembered this incorrectly but was there something a bit noncey going around about Pedro at the time he signed for Watford or Brighton?

I remember when we bought him it was said he could play at CB as well. Not seen him actually do that for us, but it does show his value as a defender.
  15. He seems to carry the ball very well down the left side and have an ability to take players on down that side. But I agree he would likely be equally good down the right now he has found his form This is the very reason we should hold on to him bar for an insane offer. The ability to play two positions to a very high standard is worth its weight in gold
  16. I'm with you there Mike, he's the boyo. Let's Heaven's Gate it if he doesn't sign.

Obviously doesn’t tell everything, but the Cup win and his performance there against Salah probably also gave him a mega boost. It somehow felt like he came off age there, like properly. I know he has done well at LB before that as well but it could be that he didn’t feel quite as confident those periods where he played RB. As well as a different player in front of him too as mentioned.
  18. It might be a coincident or a combination of the players he has infront of him. But I remember it from the previous season aswell that he always looked more dangerous in attack coming in from the left. By all means it very well might be that he has a potential on the right aswell that he is yet to unlock, but I think its safe to say that he hasn't unlocked it yet. On the defensive side of things i think he is awesome in both positions, so its not like I think he isn't a great RB, just feels like a more complete player on the left for now atleast.

Ferguson's stock has fallen away too much for Chelsea I feel. In fact, he'd be quite a Newcastle signing, if we didn't already have Osula sitting on the bench most games. Apropos of all this, I have a suspicion that if we are really interested in Pedro - he'd come in as a No 10, "locksmith"-type of player in a 4-2-3-1, we would forego signing a right-sided forward, and next season would be Osula's "Lewis Hall breakthrough" season on the right.
  22. Good article or bad article, still no getting away from Holt being an obnoxious mouthpiece for the cartel clubs. He'd love to be padel spanked by Thomas Frank, that's the overriding impression you get from reading that piece.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

i was pointing out it’s already been established that the account saying sane to Newcastle is fake
  24. Bruce wasn't too good for even Ashley's Newcastle though.
  25. Are people trolling when they say they’d have Madueke for 50m over Elanga for the same money? I’d completely understand if they thought we could get him on the cheap (as he’s got a lot Howe can work with) but the guy is one of the most frustrating wingers in the league; still plays like a raw, selfish teenager. Bit of a knob too by all accounts. For the same money you go Elanga every time, surely.

I just think this whole idea that he's a better LB than RB is overblown on the basis of him doing well at LB. That doesn't mean he's not a great RB, it just means he might have not had a great spell for a few games early in the season when quite a few players were off their game.
