The thing with a Jonathon David or Angel Gomes, you can go on about whether they're a perfect fit or how their wages are high, but in a PSR world I struggle to see how signing a good player for free is bad. The day after you sign them you have a 30m player you didn't have yesterday. I'm concerned Eddie doesn't have an elite attitude towards transfers. Get the pitchforks out, I said it.

Wilson on a pay as you play contract is basically him hanging around spreading some joy in the physio room and cafeteria. If his base salary is on the Ruddy level it’s probably worth it. He’d be mad to sign something like that though
