    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Yep. It’s the selling club that wins in June accounting wise. Makes little difference to the buying club in June or July.
  4. Isn't it pro rated? So if we bought someone on June 28th, only a very small fraction of the outgoing spend would count for this year? But works the other way for sales (ie; you bank everything in that year you make the sale).
  5. There maybe a bit wiggle room before then, as Howe mentioned that we maybe in a position to take advantage of clubs looking to sell. Just have to wait to see. I'm quite happy to see what happens, unlike 70% of our fanbase.
  6. I thought he looked class when Klopp first started playing him and it's been downhill ever since. I think being hauled off at half time in the first game of the season by Slot destroyed his confidence. Maybe a new start abroad will help.
  7. It was the Championship, brother. He was fucking shite. As evidenced when Leeds signed him when they came up the next season and he spent most of the time picking spelks out of his arse
  8. Nothing is going to happen on the transfer front until after the PSR deadline on 30th June then watch the incoming big money transfers. Waiting until after 30th June gives us an extra year to comply with PSR on the 3 year rolling basis.
  9. Hes really not average. I’ll stick my neck out and say that I anticipate that he’s back in the PL within 2-4 seasons for a huge fee. I think Liverpool will end up regretting letting him go.
  10. Every match we started Anita, he lasted about 15 mins in central midfield before Pardew swapped him over with Perch, who to be fair was far more combative. Anita scored an unbelievable volley in Brugge, I think?! It's one of those goals that I've only ever seen once and can't guarantee I didn't imagine. Like Sibierski's mazy dribble away at Waregem. No footage of it exists so did it really happen? Obertan was absolutely horse shit for us until one day it clicked and he was mint for about 4 games, then snapped his hamstring at home to Liverpool I think it was and was basically done after that. Riviere was shit too but thankfully didn't get to 50 games.

  12. You love blowing smoke up your own arse like.
  13. Party round Sid Lowe’s Casa
  14. His home debut playing right wing was the perfect introduction to him. Offered absolutely nothing and was a hindrance to the team as a whole. Hated Colback way more though. Should’ve been abused from the moment he stepped foot in the club. Rat.

    Lee Clark

I agree. Get BBC on and listen to some Oasis instead
  16. Tbh, it was just an example. Maybe he isn’t the best player to use because perhaps there’s a theory we could get even more than that if he was sensational again next season. I suppose what I was trying to say was that in general I’d be against release clauses, unless the amount is so significant it completely transforms one, two, maybe even three windows for us, and perhaps allows a wage structure increase alongside that. If we look at Huijsen, who the convo originated about, making ~35m off him is great, but, for us, it probably buys one very good, or maybe two good players. Set against the (what I would consider negative) impact that has on the perception of the club externally, that’s nowhere near enough.

    Lee Clark

Can tell the heat is getting to some on this forum. Saturday night and arguing about Lee Clark. I blame climate change.
  18. He was diabolical, horrific to have to watch him put on the shirt
  19. Can anyone give me anything, anything at all positive about Smith? An effective match he had, an assist, any kind of crumb of decency? The goal in the friendly (I was there!) doesn't count - competitive contribution only. Him getting sent off in the closing stages of our away win at Cardiff as we got the promotion season up and running for fouling an opponent on a threatening breakaway is about all I can muster. Even when he did something vaguely good it involved him getting a red card.

The bloke who has just left is en route to Sparta Prague. His career is very much on the up, unlike Clarks.

So no better than Clark management wise. Id say Clark’s playing ability is a match for that which he could translate given a chance. What was the management record of the bloke who’s just left!? Or Jack Ross etc etc… FFS Clark isn’t going to get the gig. Relax 🧘🏻‍♀️

Graeme Jones has been a highly regarded coach in the game for a long time. Can the same be said of Clark? Not at all if we're being honest.
