This is where I am right now, after tonight's results and the fact a win puts us 2nd, we will be well up for the battle tomorrow and I don't think Arsenal will, their only motivation now is not to get beat 4 times on one season by us.
-
How does he leaving mean we'll end up with Trafford ?
-
Not that scared of Spurs even if they were to win and get CL. Hard to deny that Man Utd is a huge sleeping giant. We really dont want them to get momentum.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle United: 18/05/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

Who is out for them? I know Merino is suspended -
Yep, it's been obvious for weeks now it was always going down to the last day and we needed to get to 69 points for a top 5 finish . The Chelsea game last week was always the key one and once we won that I stopped worrying if we would do it or not . No way this team throw it away at home to Everton on the last day .

The likes of Man U and Spurs bringing the game into disrepute fielding weakened teams against our rivals doesn't help
-
Exactly. Have faith in our boys. When we are fired up, we are pretty much unstoppable. Its when we're not fired up we got issues!
-
They’d lose to Villa even if they showed up. They’re rancid.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
TheBrownBottle replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
I just hope Howe plays a key role in who comes in - I know that in the modern game, DoF (or whatever their title) fulfil that role, but Howe’s signings have been incredibly successful - Brian Clough once talked about transfer policy being about successes outweighing failures. I can’t imagine that there are many managers with Howe’s ‘hit rate’ re successes - I can only really think of Targett’s permanent move (he was a success on loan) as being a definite ‘miss’ to date. -

Their fans hate him too.

General NUFC stuff: club crest to be changed (Official)

Have never appreciated the current badge so much since all these mock ups, it just needs simplified for manufacturing and digital use. -
If the roles were reversed and we had a final in less than a week with nothing to play for in the league, would anyone bat an eyelid if we fielded a weakened side in a fixture a few days before? One where a win would help a cartel club reach CL qualification
-
We are beating arsenal tomorrow as well, we are going to do the business ourselves.
-
At least one of Man Utd and Spurs will get what they deserve and come to regret how they’ve treated the league. The loser of the final will have a broken manager, a team that finished bottom quarter of the league, a livid fanbase and a big hit to the finances, not to mention a shit squad. Im pretty sure it will be spurs in this position, and they’ll have no one to blame but themselves
-
Don’t think this is true at all. Pope is a good goalkeeper, as is Dubs, but they both have flaws and Pope’s only one isn’t his distribution. Hit him low and hard and he’s unlikely to get down in time for instance. Neither is neat world class in the way Tonali and Isak are, or even very good PL players like Bruno, Gordon, etc. I think we can improve in what is a vital position, and if there is an opportunity to do so at a relatively small fee, we definitely should!

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Lads we’ll beat Everton at home in a must win game. I understand the nerves like but this team delivers when it counts. -
As great as it would have been to book our top 5 position last night, Villa and Chelsea were never gonna lose to relegation fodder. We will beat Arsenal tomorrow and be responsible for our own fate, a couple of extra days of hope was all that was achieved yesterday, let them fight it out for 4th/5th.

The Man City v Bournemouth game could throw up an interesting scenario where MUFC spew it v Villa to keep the local rivals out of the CL. I doubt Man Utd fans would be arsed about taking another loss to keep them out of it. Would realistically need Bournemouth to win when the best I can see them doing is a draw.

Said this before but a draw is just as important for goal difference as it is for the point. -
