He's a very good CB, would be perfect for us. Wouldn't be confident of getting him as I think he'd be looking for a bigger/better club but he's a player we should be making the effort to try and sign. At least ask the question to him and City. We won't though.

He's been a regular member in the back 4 that's shipped nearly 130 goals in the last 2 seasons. He's not been culpable for all of them obviously but he's not exactly bullet-proof. He's the captain and is supposed to be the leader out there so he's fair game for (constructive) criticism. He's been bang average for the last 2 seasons and can't see him getting better unfortunately. Being the best CB we have (debatable) doesn't mean that much tbh.

I'd be expecting both CB's to deal with that between them tbh. Yeah they could have tracked back a bit more but the error was behind them. One goes, one sits - it's basic stuff.

It's Williamson's man IMO. Coloccini rushing off and creating that huge gap is so painful to watch on the replay. One goes, one sits in the space. It's not rocket science. Can't see how it can be pinned on Janmaat in any way tbh.

Both CB's chasing Dzeko (who's heading away from goal) was the major problem for the first. Lack of communication/IQ was the issue imo.

Becoming more of a liability with every passing game. He's been phenomenal and I quite like the bloke but he's not beyond criticism, he's been responsible for loads of goals over the last 2 seasons. Needs phasing out but it won't happen due to his standing in the club, the lack of quality in his position and the unwillingness to invest in the most important area of the team imo.

Without doing so you don't score goals and that's what wins games. Many of the best (missed) goal scoring chances are shots off target. Obviously, a shot on target is required to win with the exception of a own goal, but the statistic does not really tell you about the amount of threat a team carried in a match. It's a pretty good rule of thumb though tbh.

There were definitely some positives that we'll take from the game but ultimately we lost and didn't manage a shot on target. The effort was there and certain players had good games but playing well and losing gets you fuck all. Tough fixture to start with admittedly but we still lost. Again.

It's obvious but that's the difference in quality. Sissoko misses and Aguero converts. We've given a much better display than I expected but it's still another defeat.

Fleet-toed.

Pretty sure city are going to win this, they've beaten us 10 times on the spin and I've got no reason to believe today will be anything different. Based on the fact I think defeat is inevitable then I won't be too unhappy if the defeat is an absolute thumping. Just imagine the Cardiff atmosphere returning in the very first home game of the season man.
