Any chance of Van Aarnholt being recalled by Chelsea seeing as Cole has knacked his ankle? -

We'll get hammered 1-1. -
Pretty sure some kind of deal would be done to ensure Cardiff (and Portsmouth and Southend for that matter) were able to fulfil their fixtures to complete the season. Not saing it definitely won't happen but I'd be astonished if it did.

Was looking at their top scorers last night. It went: Bent 15 Jones 7 then about 3 who've scored 2 and about 7 who've scored once... If anything happens to him they'll go down. They remind me so much of us last season, it's starting to tighten up and they've got some tough games coming up (starting with Arsenal away) and could easily end up in the bottom 3 at Easter. Get, the fuck, in.

Just give the cheating cunt the cards and the whistle and let him ref the game as he's playing.
-
Not going to have a pop at Hughton tonight. He got it badly wrong against Leicester but I was pleased he started with the same XI that twatted Cardiff. It didn't work out but I can't ault the bloke for setting his team up to go out and win the game. If he continues to do this then I think we'll win far more than we lose and go up.
-
Thinking about this a bit more, Clough should be annoyed with his players. They can beat us and Forest, hold West Brom and are still right down there at the foot of the table. How come? They're either raising their game when they play one of the better teams or they're going through the motions against the rest of the league. Whatever it is he should be expecting more from them. They're cheating him tbh.

Don't think results have any copyright.

As you were as far as automatic promotion is concerned. The gap is still 4 and a game in hand. Not ideal but finishing top 2 was always going to be the priority.
-
Had they not lost 6 at home so far? This will be their 8th win. West Brom have only won 9.
-
Sounds like one of those nights tbh. We were always going to lose a few between now and the end of the season and Derby are pretty good at home. We've had more of the ball and Hughton picked the side we all wanted to see and it hasn't worked. We take it on the chin and move on to Swansea. It's very disappointing but it's not the end of the world.

If we're creating chances then it doesn't need to be changed just yet. Give it til 60 and if we need a goal then swap the strikers. If Ameobi and Lovenkrands are going to do anything they need half an hour - not a pissy 10 minute thing.
-
If it goes through, yes. Personally I think they'll get some kind of deadline til the end of the season and their future will be sorted during the close season. We'll see though.

Mid 80's although I've got very few memories from those times. Waddle, Gazza and Pedro. Too young to remember seeing Keggy play though.
-
Just looking at the league table and it's quite encouraging to see after this weekend we'll have almost played the other 6 best teams in the league twice - WBA, Cardiff, Swansea, Leicester and Palace (who should have 43 points). The other sides in the top 10 still have to come up here too - Forest, Sheff U, Barnsley and Blackpool. No reason why we can't still wallop the shite and get to 100.
-
Lennon, Young, Milner, Cole. Beckham offers nothing anymore.

He's a cretin, and he's worse than ever now. SBR had it right about him and that was years ago. Bobby liked him I think. I do recall some negative comments after a game though. There is a lot to admire about Wenger, but he has zero dignity or class. I can't remember SBR's exact words but they were about that, I think. Something about learning how to lose and reacting with a bit of dignity when it happens.

You should have been there, it was fantastic.
-
I just don't think because we thumped Cardiff at home we should take anything for granted. We aren't going to be three goals up inside 15 minutes in every game. This is true and one or two are getting a bit carried away. Still think if we come out firing and go for them with 2 strikers and 2 wingers we'll create chances and win the game though.
-
He got it right last night. Started with a balanced, attacking team and we came out looking to win the game. A mobile(ish) CM and a solid back 4. It's a simple game and Hughton should start with that formation and attitude for the rest of the season.
-
Start the same XI and we'll win by 2 or 3 again. Bring back Smith/Butt and we'll struggle. Bit of balance with a bit of pace and we'll stretch them and score a few. I'll go 1-3 to us.
-
Well that was a nice experience. Attacking line-up, 2 wingers, 2 forwards, no Smith, no Butt and after 15 mins the game was won. We should probably have scored more tbh but 5-1 was far more than I was expecting. Well done to everyone.

Ones that spring to mind straight away are David Hirst and Norman Whiteside.

Guthrie is no more than a poor man's Danny Murphy. He's alright but he's not the answer.
