Dunno why but I've never watched a single second of any of these things. And I'm someone who watches at least one football match almost every day of the week.

This is earlier than the timeframe Yorkie mentions (I think I'd mainly lost interest by then) but it's probably what Haydn is thinking of. Can't actually see what the poll results were because it was different forum software.

"Fat cockney rapist" still cracks me up.

Already mentioned by Disco but I've got Fisherman's Bay in Whitley a close second to Longsands. Think it's a bit cheaper as well, always feel like I've had my eyes out when we get a Longsands now.

I watch a decent amount of both MLS and A-League and even though the crowds are often quite modest, every team seems to have a significant section of fans, mainly young lads, going fucking bananas for the entire game. -
Some really interesting posts in here, especially from @LFEE and @Rich, quite eye opening. One thing I'd love to see is an age breakdown of season ticket holders across the Premier League. I haven't set foot in the ground for 9 years (which feels wild) and the demographic felt ancient even then. Couple that with an ongoing price deal that compels folk to cling onto their tickets, could age be a factor in a less vociferous crowd and are NUFC particularly susceptible to it?

He's on one of those rare runs of form at the minute that most players can only dream of, as soon as he gets the ball anywhere on the pitch with space in front of him, you think he's going to score. Almost unplayable since the World Cup.

Tbf we did strengthen in forward areas with a very big signing in January, it's just unfortunate that he was cup tied.

Never a free kick in a month of Sundays. Reminded me of the soft one Liverpool got when Fabinho chucked himself on the floor at SJP.

The only positive is that I feel sick as fuck

Nowt in it and we're 2-0 down. FFS.

This is amazing

Not for me Clive, think my football days are over. I do a lot of running now and playing football inevitably knacks my ankle for a few weeks and I end up climbing the walls.

If anything I don't think there's enough hype about the Martinez save at the end of the final. All things considered, I think that's the greatest save in modern football history.

Feel like he's trying a bit too hard to live up to his reputation as a time wasting shithouse.

"Last man" has never been part of the rules, it's "denying a clear goalscoring opportunity" For me there's absolutely zero chance of getting that overturned, it's a clear red. It's a red if you're fouled when clean through on goal against the goalkeeper, Salah is clean through against Sean Longstaff.
-
It's just one game for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

I think he was saying 'passers' (referring to TAA), rather than 'passes'

Really tragic news.

Didn't know Toto Ekambi had left Lyon for Rennes
-
Suspect you're right and that he wouldn't have given it if he'd realised it was a player already booked.
-
Missed that, interesting. Seems a bit silly and arbitrary. What if the third player is the captain, who is supposedly the player allowed to talk to the ref?
-
Has anyone said that's actually guidance issued to referees? Sounded like Gillet had just made it up to me. I think on SSN they'd said they were told that he ran aggressively at the ref, which is something that's very commonly booked for in Europe, but he clearly doesn't do that.

Without knowing what was said, if anything, Lemina does seem a bit harshly done by but generally speaking England is way out of kilter compared to other European leagues when it comes to cards for dissent. You really don't have to do much complaining at all to get booked for it in Italy or Spain.
