I think you're getting mixed up with Beye

According to wikipedia ( ) he is a 24 year old French right back who won his first call up to the full French squad last month.
  3. Stephen Glass had a lot of fans when he was here i think. Plenty of people thought he should have been in the team. I was one of them. I remember on one of his last games for us at SJP when his contract was coming to an end, he got a recall to the team but Bobby wasn't in the dugout that day. I forget why he wasn't there but Glass played a blinder and i think he scored as well. Typical that Bobby wasn't there when he put in that performance. I remember Sir Bobby said that he would make sure that Glass would not go into the next season without a club and said there was a one year contract for him if he wanted it, but Glass decided to move on. That goal he scored against Derby blueyes.gif
  4. I used to like Brian Kerr. I used to watch him in the reserves and he was a good touch tackling midfielder. Only ever played on the right wing for the first team though. He got a bad injury though and he moved to Scotland. He's doing decent for himself in the SPL though anyway. Shit league tbh.

He's a very good player but we aren't after any more strikers so its bullshit. Only if Owen or Martins go will we be in for a striker. We're stuck with Ameobi
  6. James Milner - Newcastle's player of the season 06/07 Tin hat on.
  7. He's a very good player. I'm happy with Milner though. We have other priorities. Right wing is just about the least of our worries.
  8. We've got more money than Boro, and although many players are money motivated i am 100% Milner is definitely not one of them. As if any of our players would leave our club for yours you deluded idiot.
  9. I love the way you lot seem to think you are going to sign Milner. You obviously haven't seen this today: Keep dreaming though smogs. I think the mackems could finish above Boro tbh.
  10. If Ashton gets 100% fit again when i think he is probably our 3rd best striker. I rate him very highly. Better than Johnson, Defoe and Bent imo. Hasn't got their goal records in the Premiership yet because of inury and relegation but he's a very clever player.

From what you are saying he sounds ideal. Would be a good blend of age if we could get an experienced centre back in to go alongside Taylor as well and a young left back like Baines. He will probably be a good talker as well with him being Marseille captain. I'd be very happy if we could get him, someone like Campbell or Hyypia, Rozenhal, and Baines. We could then get rid of Carr and Nobby can cover for right back as well.
  12. allardyce was on SSN talking mainly about the opening days fixture but stated he would like to get in a couple centre halves and a left back, maybe a right back aswell. He actually said he might get a right back as well? Thats good news after what has been said about Dyer playing there. Gives me hope that Carr will be away as well.
  13. I love an away match on boxing day like. Its a quality day out.
  14. Still plenty of time. Allardyce wouldn't have put all his eggs in one basket. I think he will make sure he's got a new defence sorted for pre-season
  15. Well i think all 3 of them are in very similar positions anyway. All of the squads need rebuilt and they've all got money to spend. The only difference is expectations are higher here. We've also got bigger names, but paper wins you nothing, and from what we've seen over the last couple of seasons, thats all some of them players are what we have at this club. Big names on paper, cowards on the pitch.
  16. Thats an important point as well. We can't really assess how good our squad is compared to others until the transfer window is shut. One thing what is looking likely though is next season is gonna be the biggest change of a Newcastle team/squad/tactics, in the space of a summer in a long time. We all hope they instantly click, but if theres 5 or 6 new faces just in the line up then we might have to be patient. On the whole though, if they're good players with a good coach, they'll work. Look at Chelsea when Roman first came. They stuck Johnson, Bridge, Geremi, Makelele, Duff, Crespo & Mutu straight in, and they overhauled ourselves, Liverpool and Man Utd. I'd imagine any signings we make, with our good coach, would be able to overhaul the likes of Blackburn, Bolton & Portsmouth. We definitely might be able to overhaul them 3 teams, but i don't think we'll challenge Spurs yet and i'm not sure about Everton. I also think theres a chance that West Ham and Villa will be up there though so it could turn into a right old battle between 5th-10th. Them players you named there are nearly all top players though. I'd love to think we will bring in that sort of quality but i'm not sure about that yet like. Definitely a possibility next summer though.

  18. If we finish anywhere in the top 8 then that is good enough. No way should we even think about sacking him after one year though. Roeder had to go. Allardyce is clearly a talented manager but he can't instantly make us into a great team. People are naming players and saying if he can't make them players playing then theres something wrong and he should be sacked. Its not just about the team, its the squad. And we haven't even got a good team yet, nevermind a decent size squad. I really do think its gonna take a bit longer than some people expect for us to get back where we should be. I don't think we'll break into the top 6 the season coming up anyway. If he gets us back into a regular top 6 team in the next couple of years then he's doing a good job. IMO of course.
  19. Prepare to be underwhelmed. If he doesn't he'll be sacked. New era's gonna be s**** in that case, then. If that's the mentality. And we'll rot. Why? Any decent manager with a squad containing Owen, Martins, Viduka, Duff, N'Zogbia, Milner, Dyer, Butt, Emre, Taylor and Given should be walking into a European football place over the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Reading etc, especially if you're given money to sign new defenders which looks to be the case. Allardyce plays shit football but that will be ignored if the team is doing well, if they're not playing well and can't even qualify for Europe the Mike Ashley will get rid, I have no doubt about that. Owen, Martins and N'Zogbia could be away. Duff is out until November. Dyer is shit.

    Bye Bye

I'd prefer to picture a Newcastle squad without Dyer and Luque in it. I'm sure the extra £100k+ a week would come in handy as well.
  21. This thread might die on its arse but i'm bored. Basically pick your Newcastle player of the year for each season. If you want/bored you can go back as far as you want. Obviously i can't go back too far cos i'm not old enough to remember: 1993/1994 - 1994/1995 - 1995/1996 - 1996/1997 - 1997/1998 - 1998/1999 - 1999/2000 - 2000/2001 - 2001/2002 - 2002/2003 - 2003/2004 - 2004/2005 - 2005/2006 - 2006/2007 - Feel free to add comments etc as well. I'll do mine soon.
