  1. Don't see the logic.. - Can't form a partnership with any other striker. - Isn't better than Cisse. - Will want regular games starting. Beyond that he is at least a big step up from bloody Shola.
  2. Unless he plays like Samba himself. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view1/1505010/samba-o.gif
  3. Liverpool, signing and looking to sign a lot of players from Spain or Portugal. A gamble from Rodgers that might pay off or horribly backfire?

    sunderland

Exciting time to be a Sunderland supporter.. lets hope it fizzles out as per normal after a likely enthusiastic start to season with the momentum optimism will create.

    Douglas

Forcing other clubs hands. Clearly has one agent pushing each interested club.. will have to wait until the agent summit meeting and look for smoke to see who wins.

    Douglas

Sure we will be linked with him again.. he is on a free. Will believe it when I see it though. Douglas would be a great signing though if we are actually interested in getting it done. Colo, Mapou, Taylor and Douglas is a mean pool of CB's and a great set for the likes of Good, Tavernier, Streete, Satka and Mbabu to learn from. More likely to end up with Pearce or shelling out for Tomkins.

    Alan Pardew

Barely.. We have never looked fluid in attack consistently although we saw flashes of it two years ago in odd matches. He talked big about playing football the fans would appreciate. Two and a half years later and we still have no idea what his football ethos is or direction our team is taking in terms of playing style. I tend to assume he knows as little as we do.
  8. Carroll was working well under the end of hughtons reign in a side that was attacking fluidly and did what any basic football side at this level should be doing, which is mixing it up play wise. He gives us the option of playing more direct and holding up the ball or physically to brutalize the opposition defence for the likes of Ben Arfa to pick up the scraps. He can certainly work in a free flowing ground based attacking side too. He is better with the ball at his feet than some are giving him credit. Not saying there arent better options for us, but he is someone we know and I think would be at his best playing for us. I dont think his return means back to permenant long ball football, it would however mean we would have way more to offer if we needed to switch to long ball during a game or against certain opposition. He can also draw defenders in and create more time and space for Cisse, this potential partnership could be great or fail miserably, I think it would work better than ba and cisse though.

    Papiss Cissé

Fuck me if we really sell Cisse over this and replace him with Andy Carroll Not that I wouldn't like to see Wor Andy back btw..
  10. This.. will probably go where the money is in Russia or Turkey. Sneaky bid though for sure.. just so we can appease our need for Cisse on the wing.
  11. Pearce will be out of a job after this.. Can see him joining our coaching staff tbh.
  12. FA is no different to the goons that run us.. A lot of great talk about the future and the wonderful plans and vision they have. They have pumped money into youth set ups, but at the end of the day very little true intent or action in hiring and training the right staff to make things a reality. It's keeping up appearances.
  13. I haven't seen him play too much tbh.. Would certainly worry me too. Liverpool and us apparently rate him though. Provided he has a turn of pace he is probably better than Williamson, club captain too.

    Gervinho

If we are interested in going back for remy I wouldn't rule this one out either. Remy would be my preference though.

    Gervinho

Linked again.. A decent option? 10m seems a lot for someone that has failed to shine at arsenal. Think he would be great option if the price is right. Still would need another striker though.
  16. Better not be one of our two signings Wouldn't be surprised. Don't think we'll buy a defender unless he goes thats for sure. I think Pearce from reading is a distinct possibility, with Williamson bein moved on. Another year then maybe the likes of streete, good, mbabu and tavernier might occupy a spot or two in out main squad.
  17. This is great news, sadly not ideal for Colo, but I believe by his body language he is happy here. Must be a bad situation for him and his family, whatever is happening. He is pivotal for next season. If not only for allowing our younger defence to grow and learn from him. We certainly née him on the pitch too. I hope he feels the fans love.
  18. Nah this will be this summers "goalscoring centre half" we wont hear anything about it and it will be brushed under the carpet. There's a recession on and all..
  19. Born in England, played for Scotland U21s, now plays for Republic of Ireland. Can't see him being much past an upgrade on Willo.
  20. Alan Curbishley in by Christmas - temporary contract to the end of the season. Lots of noises made about finding the best choice in the summer, some great names linked then we give Curbishley a three year contract for guiding us clear of the relegation zone by two points.
  21. Will his injury be an issue in signing him too? Think they are only looking to loan him out this year anyway to cope with the wages issue. That in itself rules us out we don't like loans. Belhanda, Ince, Sinclair, Wijnaldum all seem like perfect solutions. Sinclair has the premiership experience we apparently want.

    Conor Newton

Its no worse than league one. We should send Inman up there he would be the new Marco Negri, flesh eating illness aside.
  23. f*** me we really are a sham of a club...we talk a good game but f*** all is ever happening behind the scenes. Then we s*** the bed at the last minute because what we had organized in our heads (possibly weeks or months in advance) couldn't be organized at the last minute when we bother do something about it in reality. Same with Pardew as the club, all this talk of blue prints, purple and tie dye colored squad members, goal scoring centre halves.. absolutely laughable and will only get worse the more this facade is unraveled in front of ours and the hungry press eyes.
