wow... we are f*cked. A striker on loan lacking confidence possibly thrown in vs the makems. Forced to play and maybe even start the next few games without any adjustment time... This is going to be Jon Dahl Tommasson v2 isn't it?
-
We'll done makems. Having lived most of my life away from the NE, I never hated them, but see them as a club and a city with an inferiority complex. Winning cups or even the title (lol) wouldn't change that for them sadly. It's too ingrained. I do loath ManU as a club though ... Having lived near glory hunters most if my life... and wish no end of grief for them. I am one of the few pleased with this evening's result.

Watching ManU's decline has been much less satisfying than I had expected. First off, now that he's gone I realise that a great deal of my hatred toward them was actually against SAF for always getting one over us in the league as well as cup games. He always made a point of showing us who was in control by taking his games against us as serious as title contenders no matter where we were In terms of actual quality... Which led to plenty of thumpings. The thing that most disturbs me though is the difference between success and failure... Meaning not much. I remember SAF saying we would have won the title in '02 if Bellamy didn't get injured and I thought he was just doing his usual flattery mind games (that he was so fucking good at). But now looking back I think he was right. Currently, there is no real difference between the two clubs in terms of results and this is driving many of us mad. Because most of the time the seemingly small difference between success and failure is a fucking massive uncrossable chasm for us. I think this is one of the driving reasons that this Forum is (on the whole) so vitriolic against Pardew. I would suspect that if he was appointed after Souness he would actually be held in higher regard on here. A real opportunity is being lost here, there is going to be a massive realignment of the top teams and we are not going to take advantage of it.
-
Very funny chopey. In all seriousness this has gone from "it would be nice" to "must win" now that the "Baby Faced Assassin" is returning.
-
I also voted no and just like when Souness was appointed I was basically counting the days until he was sacked. Pardew is a massive improvement on both.

Didn't he also say that he was suffering from depression last year?

Newcastle United vs. Norwich City - Sat 23rd Nov @ 15:00 (not on TV)

Just like Hull and Sunderland, this is exactly the type of game we lose. 0-2 making it look fairly comfortable for Norwich. -
Still a 6 for me (just barely more than likely). We'll lose the next two and at least one of WBA and Swansea at which time the alarm bells will be deafening. I'd say the makems and Palace are going down and then it is between us, Cardiff and Norwich... with us probably favoured unless something drastic changes.

Good interview with Caleb Porter on the Guardian if anyone missed it: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/23/caleb-porter-portland-timbers-interview-mls-playoffs

This. We'll lose this. Probably after playing them off the park for the first 15 minutes. Then disaster will strike. Oh they'll still get relegated, but like Derby County (in their record breaking year) the only 3 points they'll get will be off of us.

Cabaye MotM here in the States. Bit more accurate I think.

Well that was a little disappointing. Off to torture my many Mexican friends (I live in SoCal).
-
Lame... US doing Mexico a favor.
-
I hate these early Saturday starts. Get up at 4:30 am. Watch us get mauled. Irritated so can't get back to sleep at 6:30... Weekend ruined.
-
My thoughts exactly. Also fuck FIFA ... If they ever give advice it's probably best to do the opposite.
-
Anyone else catch the commentator during the Senegal CIV game: "Ba's not been selected because he hasn't been getting many games for Newcastle these days..."
-
That fucking 2nd goal.... dude. Epic in style and desperation and pulled off.
-
So looking forward to the Mexico Panama game so much pressure. Also the last game away for Mexico away to CR should be great. I would be okay with the US playing an experimental youth team for our last game TBH
-
Miami is filled with Cubans and Puerto Ricenos... baseball and "Hi'Li" (whateverthefuckthatis) is what they play. They know nothing of futbol. You are thinking of California and the Southwest where a Hispanic market should make an MLS team work. Cubans even vote Republican FFS... they are very different from most other latino communities in the US.

That Leeds kit looks just like PUMAS in the Mex League

Even if we were to have an amazing season and finish fourth , this is exactly the type of game we would lose. Optimism and expectations high against a newly promoted team. NUFC 0 Hull 2. Probably a red card and injury to help us along.
-
Not picking a fight, it's just banter man. All of my posts for the past couple pages have been tongue in cheek. I care little for the national teams personally other than they get me through the dry spells.
-
Now that didn't come across as bitter at all.

The game against Fulham was the best we've played since Chelsea last year. That said my guess is we will come crashing back to earth with a turgid display and a convincing Villa win 3-0
