i think our season will go one of 2 ways. Either the team will start punching at its potential weight and we finish 3rd. OR things will not quite click and we finish 9th. [theres ALOT of teams fighting for 6/7th slot] I dont think there will be a middle road this season. IMO

Butts attitude makes you realise how weak minded jenas was, who decided to take a leap out of the fishbowl instead of gritting his teeef and applying himself. personally i think this is a bad move. He should have gone on loan to ajax, till we are back in europe. He played pretty well for us in uefa, but hes not got the mental strength for the prem; this could be a confidence thing though, and a year in the dutch league should repair that. bad move imo, rather short sighted. I bet he scores against us in some euro competition within 5 years!

He should be in lampard position, as a creative attacking midfielder.......lampards passing is poor, at least he wrecked a few attacking moves last night. Cole has a tendency to keep comming inside and not deliver crosses from the edge of the box. YOu either need width and good crosses or you need a creative attacking midfield behind the strikers.........we cant get either of these right, so no chance of doing both at once!! maclaffen is starting to look as hapless as roeder...infact i think roeder would do a better job!!!

villa looked very pacey in the first 30mins, our midfield could not keep up with them. Carews breathing problem seemed to swing the game back to us, and we surged forward. However we failed to unlock their defense, and looked pretty toothless in the last third. shows how poor you are when you are depending in cough milner to try and create something. atmo theres too many grafters in this team and not enough talent.
