  1. That’s why Eddie adjusts the team. We don’t press the same with Maxi as we do with Big Jow out on the left. It’s different tactics which can be successful. You don’t need a unified press against all teams as not all teams try to play out from the back intricately. Many just play into full back to play channel ball, which is another successful tactic of ours as with our 3x centre backs we’re likely to win the ball back albeit with possession in our half not the final third, but the modest press has still been successful in turning possession over
  2. Kieron Dyer said recently on the True Geordie podcast that the problem with the England team and English media is that we focus too much on what players can’t do, instead of focusing on what they can do. He said this in the context of playing Trent against lesser teams like Wales and USA in the World Cup. But I think his point applies to us. Saint-Maximin can do an awful lot that other players can’t. Let’s just let Eddie figure out how to bring his strengths to the fore whilst masking his weaknesses in the team, and let’s just celebrate what he can do for us.
  3. This take left a trail of snail slime across my phone. Yuck!

Sorry I missed this at the time. I love that video!!
  5. You’re 100% correct. This was a classic deployment of the ultimate card in Top Trumps.
  6. “My neck, my back, my p*ssy Amrabat!” - that’s his song sorted!

I don’t want casual visitors of the Forum thinking we’re all completely biased and blinkered on here (more than is normal with football fans). So in fairness I’m prepared to admit that Grealish’s total ability and output is equal to that of Almiron’s right foot.

Hell no, that’s basically a firing squad death sentence

    Joelinton

He’s too strong for football. Bet he can hold plank position on just his toes and left little finger for an hour

I can’t have that. As much as I dislike him Souness was tough and nails. Roy Keane wishes he grew up to be as tough as Souness
  11. But wasn’t he wearing a magic hat? Or did the hat break…

Agreed, but a bit like Spurs away, we owe Leicester one to peacock our progression

You’re totally right. If the premier league had any morals they’d have awarded us 2 goals from that passage of play. The xG was +2.04
  14. I can relate to this. The new Newcastle has me waking up every morning like Oprah Winfrey, throwing round likes like Confetti. "You get a like, and you get a like, and you get a like, we all get a like!" He'd see the danger, snuff it out, and cooly leave again. Sven Bossman!

Just a shame it can’t be done on a school playground. That was the benefit of Shearer’s it was universal you could do it anywhere

That is beautiful. That Instagram post should be hanging in The Louvre and unidentified artistic scoundrels like Banksy should be riffing designs off it

Eddie Howe's knee-sliding muafuggers! Sliding to a Champions League tie near you in 2023!
  18. After the highs of 6 wins in October, we'll probably now only win 1 game all month!
  19. Almiron sneaking in the staff photo for extra glory, as if he hasn’t got enough this month!!
  20. I fully agree with you. Just wanted to ask when will you be donating your username to Bruno’s little lad?
  21. As a Welshman I must concur

Wilson best get tappin whilst scoring tap-ins! Callum in hushed whispers: “Kalvin, James… Jude, let me tell you about the crowd at St James’ Park. It’ll be mental in the champs leeg next year!”
  23. I’ve been a lurker since before the days of the Hitzfeld dossier. Those were heady times!!
