    Kinnear Out

Here is the latest instalment from the incredible bullshitting man,i wish he would just shut the fuck up but in a perverse way i like to have a laugh though i shouldnt be feeling like this with the old git :-[ Joe Kinnear - Our fans do not understand my problems Jan 19 2009 by Stuart Rayner, The Journal Joe Kinnear JOE Kinnear told Newcastle United’s supporters they do not understand the problems he is up against after they turned on him for the first time, writes. The 62-year-old was barracked by travelling fans during Saturday’s 3-0 surrender at Blackburn Rovers. They also demanded the introduction of substitute Jonás Gutiérrez. The Argentinian did not come on until the 79th minute because of an injured hamstring. Afterwards Kinnear was anxious to explain the defeat, his failure to land any transfer targets in the first 17 days of the window, the make-up of his squad and his team selection. “I understand how the fans feel, they’ve been phenomenal since I came,” he said. “The fans are crying out for success, and I’m not trying to hide from that. They want to see Newcastle do well and, in the second half, we disappointed them. “They’re going to vent their anger and, nine times out of 10, it’s the manager that gets it. I suppose previous managers have had the same treatment, but I feel for them and understand where it comes from. “They don’t know the ins and outs of what’s happening at the club, and they don’t know just how tough it is. They might be chanting for their favourite player (Gutiérrez) but they have to understand he hasn’t trained this week. “The sad thing – and I’m going to hate saying it – is that being out of the (FA) Cup might be a blessing in disguise. I know we should have annihilated Hull (in last week’s third-round replay, which they lost 1-0), but it’ll give us two or three weeks to get players back.” Newcastle do not play again until January 28 at Manchester City. Nicky Butt will be suspended after being sent off on Saturday. United must hope the Football Association do not examine his reaction – abusing referee Rob Styles, then petulantly hoofing the ball into the stands – or the ban could be extended. Kinnear – who was in France yesterday scouting his top targets, Rennes midfielder Stéphane Mbia, and Lille centre-back Adil Rami – also revealed his transfer budget will not stretch as far as he hoped. The Magpies bid £5m for Mbia but Rennes want nearer double that. Kinnear faces a choice between quantity and quality between now and 5pm on February 2. “I’m certainly going to spend the £10m I’ve got,” he said. “I was trying to spread the money wisely and buy two £5m players. On each occasion, the (selling) club has said they want £10m. Whether I get that kind of money is debatable. The club’s haemorrhaging money and you know what’s happening in the economic climate. “The question now is do I go for one £10m player, or do I keep searching for two £5m signings? “I’m not going to take free transfers and I’m not going to take some of the players who have been offered to me this week. We’ve got to be in there getting top-class players because this is a top-class club.” The United boss may be able to supplement his budget by reluctantly selling back-up goalkeeper Steve Harper to Tottenham Hotspur. The London side have turned their attention to Harper, having originally targeted Newcastle’s first choice shot-stopper Shay Given. If United can retain the disillusioned Given, selling Harper now could be an attractive option because he can leave for free at the end of his contract in June and highly-rated Dutch youngster Tim Krul is due to return from loan at Carlisle United this week. Kinnear, meanwhile, has blamed the lack of balance in the squad on his predecessors and put much of the onus for Saturday’s defeat on referee Rob Styles. The Waterlooville official awarded a penalty against Newcastle for the third time this season – wrongly in Kinnear’s view – and sent off a United player for the second time. Despite his gripes, Kinnear has no intention of walking away from the job. “I love the game, so I’m going to fight my corner,” he said. “It’s a massive job and I like the people up here. “I love the club and being back in the Premier League. I said I’d keep Newcastle up and I intend to do that. “Once we get two or three players back fully fit – and I mean fully fit – I think we’ll be all right. Only time will tell, but I’m very confident we will stay up.” Meanwhile, Slovenian First Division side NK Domzale have confirmed that their 16-year-old midfielder Haris Vuckic has signed for Newcastle. The deal is initially for six months, with the option of a further three years.
  2. For years we have got behind the team and generally passion and noise makes little difference most of the time as i can say with experience getting a sore throat over the last 36 years of going to the match, being vocal is one thing but getting a reaction from the players is another .
  3. Well we seem to fucked on that score considering he is more than likely out till next season

    Kinnear Out

He seems to be deflecting responsibility from himself to the players and therefore if we go down he can say "well its got nothing to do with me i didnt buy them".
  5. Totally agree how come we cannot go for a player like him but risk it on a import with probably no experience in england which is more than likely is going to be the case.

    Lookalikes

Seriously poor choice of a christian name for a black man
  7. The problem is though that the pope has more chance of getting married then Kinnear getting us in to europe
  8. You don't think perhaps he's been asked the same question as every other manager this week & answered it by pointing out we'll find out how good they are pretty soon? Still any excuse to be critical eh? So is Kinnear ok in going out with that kind of attitude i think it stinks of negativity and if that is ok with you fair enough but it stinks and i do not accept this attitude from our boss.So what do you think the Boss should be saying before the man city cos the line "Man city could have the best team in the world by the time we play them" is a nonsense quote as you can throw 11 world class players together but without training together for a while doesnt make them the best team in the world and they may never be .I am not being critical on everything Kinnear says but i pick on certain things i do not agree with and this is one of them,Kinnear for me is not the man to take us forward and will have plenty more discussions about this in the future.
  9. Kinnear also bemoaned the fact that his team could be the first to face Brazilian superstar Kaka if he agrees to join Manchester City. City's home game against Newcastle on January 28 has been pencilled in as a possible debut date for the AC Milan man. And Kinnear is bracing himself for a tough test against moneybags City. 'Manchester City could have the best team in the world when we go to play them. It's just Sod's Law how the fixtures have come up. 'It could be Kaka's first game against us. We might play Manchester City and they will have the most expensive team in the world. It's just the way things have worked out.' This just about sums up the guy and what the future holds a pityful excuse of a defeat before we even get on the pitch with them and what sort of message does it send out to our squad
  10. Just support the club not who is manager ,i have spent 40 + years supporting my club and will never stop you will eventually learn that this is all part and parcel of the soap opera. As far as the appointment is concerned i only hope this is another bullshit stylee speech and not a sign of Ashleys ambition to get us back up there as imho Kinnear is not the man to do it.
  11. Yes it was reported at the time Jose told bobby he had the legs of an old man
  12. Who are you on about? Whenever we cart the fringe players out they understandably look rusty but they just don't seem to give a s***, in an injury crisis that isn't exactly ideal, a team in a dog fight can't really afford to be carrying dead weight. You said 'he', I assumed you were talking about someone specifically. I also didn't see any of the fringe players behaving like that tonight. I think he must be having a knee jerk moment Wullie as he still hasnt answered the question .
  13. We were a big club a few years ago giving Manure and the rest a run for there money but mismanagement has left us where we are today.Imho a new owner with ambition and the right people in place is the only way forward and as everyone knows this is not going to happen anytime soon .

  20. I read his updated autobiography a while back and thought what a dick head and at the same time you could tell he had so many problems from an early age ,Sheryl victim of beatings through there relationship and living with that tit must have been a living hell (money doesnt bring happiness)and the kids seeing a father figure turn into that must be heartbreaking from how they remember him as kids.Regan came across as not caring as he has only seen the shell of a man called father and no wonder he doesnt give a damn. sad to say but on a slab before the years out or in a mental hospital.

  22. Got this article off the newsnow who got it from Talkofthetyne and it has got some good points in it. The Future Freaks Me Out By Ian Smith - 05/01/2009 10:37 At half time during the Hull match two guys unrolled the "Cockney Mafia Out" banner right in front of me. One of the guys had the same message stuck to his forehead. I'm all for freedom of speech but lets be honest for a moment the whole "Cockney Mafia" line was an embarrassment when it was used the first time. Not least because Mike Ashley isn't even a cockney! I think it is obvious that Newcastle United supporters are not happy right now. It's easy to say "I'm not going" or "The fat man is having no more of my money". Well good luck to you if that is your choice. That doesn't mean those who don't share that view are quote: "Ashley sympathisers". What that does mean is that Newcastle United have loyal fans. Supporters who are sticking by their team through thick and thin. No matter how thin it gets there are plenty who will watch and support Newcastle United. Please let's not get that confused with some kind of Ashley loyalism. It simply isn't true. Let's look at our options shall we. Bearing in mind that Mike Ashley clearly cannot find a buyer what do people want? The way I see it is that Mike Ashley had two options: 1. Mike Ashley, cannot find a buyer, washes his hands of the club and lets it rot. 2. Mike Ashley, cannot find a buyer, makes a statement saying he will try to turn things round as Newcastle is still his responsibility. Just remember the key part of all this. Mike Ashley CANNOT FIND A BUYER. We should be grateful for small mercies right now and the fact Ashley picked number 2 leaves us in a slightly better situation that if he'd chosen number 1. Now while every Newcastle supporter wishes there was a buyer we have to accept that there isn't one out there and therefore we have to adjust our response accordingly. Just what are more protests going to achieve when there is NO BUYER? I'm not saying we all have to love Mike Ashley but let's see if he can stick by his word during January before we start getting irate about it all again. The fact is he is going nowhere and there really is no alternative. We've tried that. Let's be honest about one more thing while we're at it. If the team start winning again then no one will care that Ashley is the owner. No one is expecting silly money to be spent. A few million in each transfer window and some steady progress upwards would appease most supporters. If we consistently challenged for a European place I dare say the majority of fans would be happy and St James's Park will be sold out again. We're actually quite easily pleased and the media myth that we demand success is actually a fallacy. I guess I just don't see what any more protests will do anyway? We've all bought our season tickets so the club has our money anyway. If you want to cancel then that is your right at the end of the season and without sounding critical to anyone who makes that choice, good riddance. I'm strongly of the opinion that we have some of the most idiotic supporters in the country. I'll give you some examples. -Last season some cheered and applauded Peter Crouch when he scored against us. -This season Gerrard got applauded for his excellent display (fine and very sporting) but then the same people will happily boo our own players. -Giving ole's when we were 5-1 down to Liverpool, sorry but I don't see the amusement there at all. This type of reaction is detrimental to the club and team and why anyone would want to make a bad situation worse is beyond me. There is a way of showing dissatisfaction and booing and ironically "ole-ing" isn't it I'm afraid. Let's look at our best performers this season. I think most supporters would list Bassong top of the pile with Jonas, Colocinni and Guthrie also impressing more often than not. Of course Given and Beye join those but look who brought those other four in. The "Cockney Mafia". The youth team is also riding high which suggests that all is not failing in player recruitment. Clearly there was a issue of trust and power with KK leaving the way he did and most would support Keegan for his reasons for leaving, and most other Premier League managers would have done the same as Keegan I have no doubt. The set up needs to change, we all agree to that. If the manager had a team of scouts that reported to him then we're less likely to have another KK situation or a puppet manager. This is an essential change Mike Ashley must make if he is to turn things round. The abuse offered toward Dennis Wise has always struck me as being more about his role as opposed to it being Dennis Wise. The press were the one's who started the Dennis Wise hate campaign and we all, to differing extents, fell for it when KK left. If Dennis Wise wants to carry on looking for youngsters and being a general scout for the club then fine. However his job description has to change. I still maintain that up until the transfer window closing most people were happy with the direction of the club and most were optimistic of a bright future. For whatever reason not enough players were brought in and this led to the underwhelming panic buys of Xisco and Gonzalez, we assume, behind KK's back. Now here is the thing. It appears that when the time and effort was put in to searching for players we bought relatively well. Consider our mid table finishes of previous seasons the personnel was definitely improving the squad. For some reason we didn't bring enough in and that is the other part of the issue. Mike Ashley has to build up a paper thin squad and quickly but not with panic buys as seen at the end of last summers transfer window. To do this he needs to bring in a permanent manager. He must not make Joe Kinnear the full time boss should he keep us up. If we do survive this season it should be a case of "Thanks for the good work steadying the ship Joe but off you go". Whoever is appointed must be backed and be allowed to make his own decisions otherwise we'll have another repeat of the last five months. For now then we're stuck with Ashley and two guys pulling out a "Cockney Mafia Out" banner at Hull isn't going to change that. It spoke volumes to me that to a man everyone around me felt the same embarrassment when they pulled the banner out. The time has passed for that kind of protest.....at least for the time being. Most supporters just want to get through this season. We have to now give Ashley, at least, until the end of January to see if he sticks by his word and probably until the summer. Everyone deserves a second chance right? Or perhaps our hands are tied and there is little we can do other than hope and pray Ashley turns things around. The one thing all Newcastle supporters can agree on is that they are all worried about the future and that there are more questions than answers right now. It is an unprecedented situation we're in and knowing what to do is difficult. It may feel good to be a dissenting voice and that you have some sort of moral high ground on the supporters who, appear at least, to be following blindly a club that is heading in the wrong direction. The truth is these supporters who are staying loyal through the thinnest of times are probably hurting a damn site more right now.
  23. Love to be involved but its my daughters birthday party so no go but if we have a summer one
