Thing is though. In the past i don't think we done that bad with transfer fees, it's the players that turn up that are the problem. Boumsong was a disaster but i don't know what we were doing paying 8m for him anyway. Duff was a snip....... at the time, now it looks too much. Martins was fairly good value. If we got Deco for 15m i'd be very dissapointed but not if we are prepared to splash out on other players. Lets not forget Deco is class.

Looks like it might still be for you though Skirge, as you've made an absolute pigs ear of our formation there! Owen in behind Viduka and Martins is how we lineup. Get it sorted! Actually that's not how we line up. The way Skirge had it was correct. The difference is that out of the three Owen drops deep and dictates the play, TBH i'm just nit picking.

I know alot of people don't rate Taylor but i do. I'm a firm believer in the defender is only as good as the rest of his team and lets face it, we've been shite up until recently. Someone like Faye has enough experiance and physical ability to stand out in a shite defence but Taylor has no chance. He's young and put pressure on him (like most youngsters) and he will fold like a pack of cards. However, put him in a team playing well and not having to defend as much and you will see a mush more composed and confident footballer. But surely that's just disguising his real ability, i hear you cry? No it's not, i'd like to see how many goals Vidic and Ferdiand would have conceeded in our pre Birmingham era, the answer is loads. My proposal is keep Taylor in the side when we are playing well and he can learn from the others around him, gain more experiance and become the player that his potential says he can. Edgars one for the future but if we can't rely on Taylor we certainly can't rely on Edgar at this stage of his career. We need to buy one more solid centre half to play alongside Faye next year, let Taylor be first back up and send Edgar out on loan.

should probably add daniel van buyten to that list - keegan signed him on a 6 month loan deal for Citeh and he was well impressed iirc Good shout. Him and Faye would be a nice combination.

I agree. For me SWP is just a better version of Lennon. There's a huge difference between those two unless I have made up SWP's exploits at MCFC, where he carried the team despite his young age. I have never seen anything in Lennon that suggests he is capable of being a goal threath the way SWP is.. Similar stature, similar pace but like i say, SWP is better.

Also like Stuart Downing, but zoggy staying and fulfilling his potential would be better Downing gets a lot of unfair stick IMO. He's the only player in the top ten cross converters in the league that plays for a side in the bottom half of the table. Doubt we ever sign him mind, for various reasons. Out of N'Zogbia and Lennon, the former is the better footballer IMO. I wasn't aware the smoggies give Downing stick. I think he's a very accomplished and controlled footballer, not as quick as the others mentioned but an excellent crosser all the same. Not by Boro but by alot of other people. Most people i speak to think he is vastly over rated but i, like you, think he's a decent player.

R.E Bartons jail issue. If he were to serve time it would only be a few months, which in the long run isn't TOO bad. Would be nice for him to avoid it though.

I don't want to see him in this league, sell him to Lyon or someone for a tidy sum. In terms of Lennon, the juries out. I think Keegan would use his pace in a brilliant way but his ability on the ball isn't as a good as Charles N'Zogbia's. IF N'Zogbia must leave we might as well get the money for him and then choose who we would like to sign. Bentley please.

People are under estimating just how good Deco is. I'd normally have a policy about not buying anyone over 29/30 but we could make an exception for Deco because he is an exceptional player. Is Moutinho their captain btw? If he is, last time i saw him play i was very impressed.
