  1. When Hope said a replacement, he did mean us getting two strikers, which he said he doesn't think will happen. He's also been saying for some time that 130m + addons he thinks will be enough.
  2. Yeah, but it just shows you're pretty much fucked either way. Can't afford to pay your players the wages to keep them, can't afford to sell and replace them.
  3. Crazy the stat on MotD that Villa have actually made a 10m profit on their transfer business under Emery, and yet are still fucked.
  4. Let's be honest, none of us know how much we have to spend. Given we're certainly going to sell Isak next summer at the latest, we are probably able to speculate a bit more.
  5. By the looks of Blackpools form they might be able to get Steve Bruce back.
  6. Yeah, I'm sure it's not the broad opinion of the average Villa fan. Though notable no one seems to be actually defending him.
  7. Have look at this page onwards: www.villatalk.com/topic/23502-unai-emery/page/827/#comments Quotes include: "Genuinely think he's lost the plot." "Sorry, what is this guy good at again?" "Unai O'Neill Same team same subs."
  8. Just went on the Villa forum and they seem to be starting to turn on Emery. Didn't take long.
  9. On the first point, Rico Lewis signed a new five year contract a couple days ago.
  10. Na, going with Eddie's patented 5-5-0 formation for the season. Edit: NPW
  11. FFS, we don't have West Ham until November. He'll be well gone by then.
  12. They can just have 'BlueCo' buy their players I guess.
  13. The dinner ladies that got sacked were on 250k a week.
  14. I'd assume there are other keepers out there.
  15. I know nothing about him, but seems risky given he's very young and doesn't have a lot of first team experience (and none in a major league).
  16. I kind of agree but also disagree. I think Jackson would ultimately be Isak's replacement, but I don't think we'll sell Isak this summer.
  17. Ideal replacement for Eze...maybe...
  18. Truly the finest thing to ever be written by a Shakespeare.
  19. I think Liverpool delayed their move until as late a they could so that others wouldn't be in a position to try and match them.
  20. That'll leave us absolutely fucked over the Christmas period. Individually I like Jackson and Wissa but I'd be very reticent to go with that as our strike force. Maybe if Liverpool come with a genuinely huge bid for Isak and they're our only viable option this window.
  21. Yeah, journalists have mentioned him a lot, but with a caveat that not everyone is sure he'd be a good signing.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if they're leaving it hanging over us until after the match and then say they're moving onto other targets.
  23. Yeah, but he would be earning massively more than anyone else. It would cause problems and would raise every single other players contract demands when it gets to renewal. It isn't just as simple as "we can afford it".
  24. Assuming all the other players were happy to sit on their current pay levels with one guy making twice what everyone else is.
  25. Sounds like from where?
