Loved the stone cold silence from commentary on the replay. Pricks.
-
Wasn't Targett even giving pre-match quotes that I saw floating about? Feels like that would be a deliberate decision to throw people off the scent.
-
I don't even care if it's to us anymore I just want Paqueta to move so we don't have to hear about him potentially moving anymore.

This is going to become the football version of every hot lass giving OnlyFans a crack.

Holy shit these gobshites are creating Patreons now?
-
Damn. Already a hit to what was looking like much improved depth under Howe. Sucks for him too as he really does seem to step it up when he's got the right manager motivating him.
-
The only likeable thing about Barcelona these days is VI. Sucks that they're way too big to fail; they'll always be bailed out somehow before they ever face true consequences to their shocking decision making.

But guys, I don't think you understand.. If we had Gerrard we could've had Coutinho. Think of the pulling power! Everyone wants to play for Stevie Geeeee.
-
I still can't believe how inane that argument was even after a handful of matches last season.
-
I couldn't consistently watch the match today but one particular moment I caught that really stuck out was his readiness to use Targett on the overlap which resulted in a corner. Felt like if it was last season he'd have gone dancing in to three defenders instead of using that outlet.
-
If he can stay fit I see no reason why he couldn't make it to the World Cup. And that gets me salivating over how many players Newcastle fucking United could have in the England squad. What is the most players we've actually had in an England squad at one time? There's a real possibility if this season goes to plan that we could have three.

I know it's irrational but such musings piss me off. If we had spent money half of them would be fuming at us 'buying' success. Proper fuck 'em all mentality only enhanced by a lovely, confident opening day.
-
How did I completely miss Lingard joining Forest on a one year deal? Why do I get the feeling he'll be kicking himself come the end of the season for not taking whatever long term deal West Ham were prepared to offer him.
-
It's not a whinge as such as I'm still buzzing for the season ahead under proper management. However.. I can't deny there's something a little underwhelming about seeing our first team sheet of the season and it being an XI we could already put out at the end of last season, sans 'keeper.
-
Saw a stat where 92% of teams that have been relegated from the PL lost their first home game of the season against opponents who played in red. As such, I'll remain conservative and say I'm either a 1 or a 10.
-
I'd be content with a strong 11th i.e. as long as we've kept up with whoever is above us most of the season. I don't ascribe to 'we were one of the best teams in the league for the second half of the season so that will carry over'. As impressive as Howe was, I have to account some of it to the weight of Bruce off the club's shoulders and momentum that may not carry over until proven otherwise. Not to mention some teams seemingly strengthening as much, if not more than us this summer. I've gone 1/4s of the League Cup and 5R of FA Cup as if we can take both seriously there's more chance of catching an understrength 'top' team in the League Cup not taking it as seriously for a better run.

I didn't realise just how young this Arsenal team was. Starting XI all 25 or under aside from Xhaka and Partey at 29. If they can progress together Arsenal could actually be back on track in a big way.
-
I get clauses and whatnot but I'll just never understand it taking days just to reach the headline transfer figure. Of course there'll be a fuckton of paperwork to sift through when the time comes but are they refreshing every page with every offer?
-
I know I'm somewhat simplifying things but I still don't understand how negotiations over the price of a player can take days in this day and age. I just don't get how it doesn't end up a real time discussion with pauses to get sign off from any appropriate higher ups? You're either willing to listen to offers as the sellers, and willing to go up to a certain price as the buyers, or not?
-
It's the same everywhere and why I'm past giving much of a fuck about rumours until it's plain as day happening. Throw enough shit at the wall hoping one or two stories stick, interspersed with vague bollocks that then allows you to come out with everything you 'knew' when things actually come to light. I swear no other area of 'journalism' seems to be as packed with know-it-all cunts that don't seem to want to divulge what they know until it's too late as football 'journalism' is. One of the arguments is 'they don't want to piss off their sources'.. What's the fucking point of the source then? Just to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside that you know? Congrats. Do your fucking job. Romano can properly fuck off and take his #herewego with him, too.

Is Maddison's personality really a concern? I know from an opposition fan perspective he can be a bellend on-pitch but I don't remember hearing anything negative about him from a general personality/workrate perspective?
-
Suppose it had to happen at some point. Joey just trying to crack one of his jokes and now fighting not to be lumped in with the prontonises and airplanes leaving the atmosphere of the world. You had a good run, chap.

6 years, man. It's crazy how many years of apathy have rolled up in to one in my mind. Best of luck to a good servant of the club in his time, particularly the Champo year ofc.
-
It's laughable watching people clutch their pearls around our takeover (financially speaking, not morally), while Chelsea and Barcelona continue to burn down any concept of there being 'financial fair play' in this sport.
-
Hopefully he hasn't wasted his last good years on the bench with us when he could've spent them being a Champo hero. Wish him all the best and will definitely look out for if he gets himself back on the goal trail.
