Great result, played some very decent football in parts of the game too.

I predict disappointment

Yes. BUT, whilst Whelan does it for the love of the club Ashley does it to protect his investment.
-
Woeful performance & frankly insulting to the fans who travelled to see that crap.

Routledge was shit for us this season, his performance against Stevenage was an embarrassment. He doesn't appear able to make the step up to the Premiership and it isn't like we're the only club to have seen this in him, every Premiership club he's been at in the past has got rid of him only to see him excel in the Championship at which point he gets another chance in the Premiership & blows it. Plus, Barton has not been needed in the middle for us this season & when he has been played there he's looked a shadow of the player that he is when playing out wide.
-
I'd send him to Middlesbrough, or Ipswich as part of a deal for Connor Wickham, he's already shown he can score at that level & both clubs have good coaches who could help him develop.
-
Wish he fucking had. If he'd fucked off in January we might have had a chance of bringing in a forward who actually gave a shit.
-
Except Carroll looked good quite early on and scored some goals, wheras Ranger looks dump and his goals are like rocking horse shite. And you are using this circus music shit to cover up for the fact that your argument has no substance behind it. Did he fuck. Ranger's mistakes & lack of goals have been down to inexperience, not lack of skill. He'll only get the experience he needs to become a decent player by actually playing, not having some keyboard warrior criticising his every touch.

Where's that quote from? If they show reserve matches on it that would be class! I hope this happens. Whilst a television channel would be brilliant, I can't ever see it happening. The demand just isn't there and because of that, the money made from advertising and subscriptions/whatever they chose to do wouldn't cover the costs of running the channel. It's fine for Manchester United and Real Madrid, but I've heard Liverpool struggle as did the Boro when they had one and it being the reason why a channel under NTL didn't come off back under Bobby. Well that and the fact that Murdoch wasn't able to buy Man Utd so NTL pulled the plug on all their potential club purchases (they had shares in us, Villa & a couple of other clubs but I believe that we were the preferred choice).

If every Liverpool manager is going to get a 2nd go at the job at least we're safe in the knowledge that Souness will be next up.

The famous 300% pay rise which sounds a lot until you realise it was a rise from £5000 per week to £15000 - £10000 per week less than we ended up paying Babayaro.
-
He's got a hell of a jump on him, not just for the disallowed goal but he outjumped Jaaskelainen for another header earlier on too. I'd like to see him play alongside a more experienced, more intelligent striker to see if he can pick up some good habits from them, something he's unlikely to get from Best, Lovenkrands or Shola.

Talk about amortisation reminds me of when bankers try to talk about credit default swaps, they're too complicated for most people to understand (by design) but those clever bankers know what they're talking about so we should trust them.

Good win & really professional performance in the 2nd half

Strange, I thought Interpol were an administrative group who aided cross-border investigations between national police forces. As far as I'm aware they don't actually do any investigations themselves. Then again, the entire story could simply be a load of bollocks.

If it makes you feel better, Sweet Caroline is one of the creepiest songs ever written. Listen to it again but this time keep in mind that Caroline from the song was 11 year old Caroline Kennedy.

If he can't hold the ball up shouldn't the team try to play to his strengths instead of his weaknesses? Asking him to hold the ball up whilst holding off experienced Premiership defenders most of whom will be much stronger & more experienced than him is an exercise in futility. But that's not his fault, that's how he's being played and he's totally unsuited to the role. Why not try playing to his strengths instead? Let him stay on the shoulder of the defenders & play balls in behind so he can use his pace to beat defenders instead of hoping that he can play in the same way as much more experienced players like Shola.
-
Bollocks. He'd have cum on the spot at the thought of that sort of cash.
-
Either they're bollocks or Pardew's just slandered Carroll to the press.
-
i'd be somewhat pleased with that. still quite raw though, not in terms of technique which is excellent but in terms of decisions, impact on games and goal threat. mind you even though he is tall he is less a Carroll type player and more like dean ashton in that he drops deep and uses his strength and technique to create chances. Wickham would be an excellent signing.
-
Disappointed to see him go but £35m +add ons (if you believe Sky) is a ridiculous amount of money. Every player has their price & I don't believe there are more than 10 clubs in the world who would be in a position to turn it down. The only questions in my mind are can we find a replacement for him before 11pm whether a loan or permanent move, can we find a replacement for him on a long-term basis and will all that money be reinvested in the squad?
-
Doesn't he usually pick his defenders for the team of the week based on whether or not they scored, nothing to do with how else they performed?
-
Disgusting performance

He's 28 & has 18 months left on his contract with us. If he stays here he's never going to get a new contract matching his existing £60k+ per week wages but a team like West Ham might be persuaded to match or come close to those wages with a 4-5 year contract. He can either stay here for a few more years but on a severely reduced wage or move on and potentially add another 3-4 years on high wages.
