Garang Kuol: Joins Sparta Prague in permanent deal (Official)

That's 'Juventus's James Troisi'. -
I reckon the number that would boo God Save The Queen is probably just a handful really. I'd be surprised if more than a couple of k, absolute tops. Totally agree with KI about our fanbase.

I would very happily boo God Save The Queen but wouldn't choose to boo a minute's silence. It's not exactly the same. (Would prefer not to watch these for now, still trying to hate them for last week) -

Booing the national anthem and booing a minute's silence for Hillsbrough is not REMOTELY comparable. 'both ways'? What ways? I mourn the deaths of those Liverpool fans regardless of who they support. And the families of those Liverpool fans are still in that crowd. Whereas, as a geordie Newcastle fan I do not feel remotely offended by someone booing God Save The Queen - actually I think it's pretty cool. And it's theirs as much as it is ours. -
Wow that's class. (Watch it people, it's not just the cup hand over but a post match interview and more too)

You can be, but not by actively commemorating. Choosing to commemorate the queen is political. -
Aye he scored his only goal in that game. Equalizer but we lost 2-1.

High score 10 after a few goes. Good game, but too many players I haven't even heard of.

Good shout. You’d back him to score that chance too. And tbh, even if we’d still lost, the moment would’ve been unforgettable.

Shearer's late missed pen v Wolves in the last home game of 2003/04 is another, for its significance. It contributed to a very sour end to that season, when the team was booed off and it helped us miss out on the CL. That negativity surely played a big part in Bobby's sacking a few games into the next season, and the mess that unfolded.

I don't think there's already a thread on this? I'd been thinking of haunting moments, or particularly misses recently, then @MrRaspberryJam just posted about Gary Speed v Marseille in another thread. What misses haunt people, you think about when you can't sleep - bad misses in important games, shots that were agonizingly close etc. One less obvious one that comes to my mind is Papiss Cissé away at Benfica in the last 16 of the Europa. He'd already put us 1-0 up before half time and in the second half we were shooting towards our fans (I was there), as I remember he broke through and dinked it over the keeper. It looked like it was going in, it felt like so long, we were in those milliseconds before you break into celebration and things'd have gone mental (2 up, 2 away goals, away at Benfica, looking like going to the QF). I was sure. But it hit the post... Gutted, robbed of that moment we were almost already in.

Once when I was a kid Warren Barton asked me at one of these things if I wanted a picture or autograph with him and I said nah, you're alright. I still feel bad about it - it haunts me. It wasn't that I didn't like him though, it's just this was about 1999 or so and I'd already got his autograph multiple times, I wanted Duncan Ferguson's now.
-
Seemed to prove last season he can still a job in the Championship, surprised he's still without a club.
-
Hopefully he's got a great Malcom XG.

That first Real Madrid goal was some goal. (then also the Modric finish)
-
I could only listen. Was our time wasting really that exceptional? “First I’ve ever booed off a team” etc.
-
His goal v the mackems?

Stifler's right that there will definitely be a push for adverts to take advantage of a stopped clock. I'm very wary of it.
-
I'm not normally one to complain about 'extra' stoppage time - the board amount is a minimum. But that much with no major incident seems mad and find it hard to believe would've gone on that long at, say, Wolves.

Ah gutted for him (as well as us). Been listening to his podcast, he's been determined to prove people he's not injury prone.
