  1. Newcastle pay upfront for all transfers but don't ask that those who buy off us do the same? I find it hard to understand why Man City couldn't pay in January.
  2. If Kinnear is manager next season Ashley obviously isn't interested in selling Season Tickets.
  3. Due to the infrequency of his goal scoring it probably involves blowing cobwebs off his Spider-man mask before putting it on.
  4. It's Camp Nou. It's never been Nou Camp. So why you have "Camp Nou" in the " " I fail to understand. Because it is Camp Nou but most English speaking people call it the Nou Camp. The quotes were for quoting what it is really called. Does my explanation for my use of quotation marks meet with your approval master?
  5. Nou Camp or "Camp Nou" looks like a 1970s multi storey car park from outside. All rough, grey concrete. When I went on the tour someone in the group shouted "Goooooooooaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll" in the media centre. The previously miserable looking club employee who was in the room broke a smile. I enjoyed the Newcastle one (apart from getting told off for going into the room connected to the changing room with the physio table in it).
  6. I remember reading he was loaned out because he would have taken Valencia over the Spanish League's allowed quota of foreign players (although I didn't know Spain had different rules to England).
  7. Always injured therefore no loss and a huge saving on wages. To be fair I wouldn't have given Ameobi a new contract either because (apart from anything else) he is always injured too. Owen is 99.99% sure to leave. We will have the following senior strikers at the start of the Summer: - Martins (assuming no one tries to buy him), Ameobi (always injured and form is erratic to say the least), Xisco ("one for the future"), Smith (A striker who doesn't score goals) and Carroll (who supposedly turned down a new contract). Hopefully Lovenkrands will be a success and will be worth keeping.
  8. Can't get my head round him having a mortgage.
  9. Enrique is revealed to be one of those people who always pick the best teams in Pro Evo. He's gone down in my estimations.
  10. Reminds me of that line in 'Rambo: First Blood Part 2'. "Do we get to win this time?"
  11. I'm not complaining. We might actually get some players fit for the next game after this break. Portsmouth get the "we've got rid of that idiot" bounce after getting rid of Adams. Sunderland also got that after getting rid of Keane. Hope we have a similar experience next week with Kinnear's (temporary?) absence.
  12. Do people think Mike Ashley would be willing to pay compensation to Wigan to get Bruce? I'm not so sure he would.
  13. I couldn't believe this when I saw it yesterday. Seriously, what are they thinking? It sounds harsh but I hope for our sake Kinnear is advised against returning on medical grounds. Having said that, the Hughton, Bryan Robson, Terry Venables options aren't good either.
  14. So he can shoot then!?! Hopefully he'll start doing that for Newcastle.

  16. I'd have thought having an emergency heart bypass operation was more "throwing his life into doubt" rather than "his future as Newcastle boss".
  17. It hasn't been published yet. It will be in The Chronicle or The Journal by the end of the week.
  18. Apologies. Have I missed people talking about it? I thought it was major news. I can't believe it's true.
  19. Doesn't surprise me. Not after I read that the club definitely have offered a 2 and a half year contract to Kinnear: - http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/02/11/man-of-mystery-or-an-open-book-61634-22901496/ As good as Owen is/was at putting the ball in the back of the net he doesn't do much else. He certainly isn't worth £100K a week wages. He's a luxury we can't afford. He also still picks up regular injuries. I'd rather play Martins over Owen. I don't think Owen will stay anyway whatever the club offer him.
  20. Christ! They did offer Kinnear a 2 and a half year contract. Get well Joe but please don't sign that contract! http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/02/11/man-of-mystery-or-an-open-book-61634-22901496/
  21. I like the idea of a supporters club. I can't see the point in their "We must drive Mike Ashley out" agenda. Mike Ashley won't leave until someone wants to buy NUFC. With the state of the world economy that doesn't seem likely for years.

  23. I think this will be it for Joe in football as a manager, the next appointment for this club should be long term. Yes but the club will have more choice at the end of the season. If they want Bruce for example I doubt he'd come now.
